Hit n Run in 6th Ed Empty

Hi Dark City ,

I'll begin by saying if this topic is somewhere else please point me the direction an ill leave it at that.

I'm planning on running a new list with beasts, it seems the hq of choice is the Barron,
I was thinking it was for the Hit an Run, but with new over watch rule, would you use this
Tatic very often , if you don't is the Barron more about the gear he packs then the skills ??.

If any advice on running a beast w/ Barron pack would be great, eg what are good targets
vs things to stay away from.

I know it's a bit to ask but any tit bits would be great

Thanks again

Overwatch is a minor thing is most cases (save template weapons, especially on mass). 6's to hit and then the standard wound/save scenario mean the hit and run charge is still very workable.

Despite what they look like on paper... my beasts always bounce... everytime... they should kill stuff good...

As for good targets, you probably want to avoid anything that has S6 or higher as they instant death the razorwings. Other than that, generally the weaponry of your opponent is irrelevant as you're likely to be striking first and have no real armour save to worry about AP with.

Try to protect the rest of your unit with Khymerae. The 4++ save stops stuff getting through to your more fragile units. Use Beastmasters to issue or accept challenges unless there's a good reason you want the Baron to do so. As Massaen said, avoid charing units with template weapons.

Avoid templates and blasts, i played a game recently vs marines and the orbital bombardment was devastating.
That said, i failed all my cover saves and all my 4++ saves.

But small terminator units can be good targets since you always hit first and have a bunch of attacks.
But 2+ armor saves takes a while to get rid of.

Now, a prime target is everything with 4+ armor save and worse.
Hope that helps ;-)

Thanks guys Smile, great advice and ill take it on. Also found a great article on the site with bestmaster unit breakdown so between that and your helpful hints i feel a lil more confident in fielding this choice Smile.

Thanks again.
