| I've left the toolbar at the top to see if anyone likes it and get some feedback.
The feature was available start of feb but was an obnoxious colour, had forumotion all over it and covered the top of the logo. It is now colour customisable, can have a logo displayed and our name and as we have copyright enabled, no forumotion stuff.
Benefits include
a ready to go search function that you can type straight into, share options quick access to profile and messages notifications - have a notification appear when someone posts in a subscribed thread etc
It can be hidden by clicking an arrow, it can be fixed to the top or scroll with your page
I'll make this a quick global announcement and include a poll too.
Cheers all.

| It's good, thanks Sky. I will use some of it for quick reference.
The only thing of note to me is that the search box, being black, is invisible against the background.
Cheers. | |

| Yeah, a white outline on the search box would be nice.
I'll probably never use it, but it's not even annoying to the level I feel a need to hide it, so that's a nice thing.

| I too like the notifications. Doubt that I' 'll use the other features, but certainly don't find them an annoyance. | |

Sorry, I should have made it clearer, I can set it to scroll but that would affect everyone. In all honesty I expected this to bomb but as it has been well received it will stay. I am going to look into getting some code to change up the search bar, maybe get rid of the share buttons and perhaps give it an opacity too. EDIT: I've now fixed it so everyone can see what that is like.

| It seems that I am no longer getting notice that there are new posts in topics (the symbol isn't lighting up). Is this related to the new navbar implementation? | |

| Not that I know of. Right, I am looking for some CSS coding help with this toolbar. I am looking to: Change the text on the left to georgia, bold. Change the bar itself to slightly see through. Make the search bar a dark, solid grey Remove all of the share options Possibly add our own icons for the arrows and search glass. Rewards in custom ranks and praise will be given | |

| I don't like it scrolling at the moment, but as soon as it becomes transparent and the share buttons go it will be a lot better. | |

| I don't like it scrolling, but I have it minimised so it doesn't bother me. Personally, I won't use it, but I can see how it could be handy. | |

In the #fa_toolbar selector, replace "Helvetica, Verdana, Arial" with "Georgia" and add "font-weight: bold;" - Sky Serpent wrote:

In the same selector, add "opacity: 0.5;". Obviously, increase or decrease the number to change opacity (1 = solid colour, 0 = transparent). Note, however, that this changes the transparency of the whole bar, including text. Alternatively, you can replace "background-color: #000000;" with "background: transparent;" to make the actual bar itself transparent while keeping the text solid colour. - Sky Serpent wrote:

| I can officially declare the toolbar finished!
A massive thank you to our HTMLaemoculus Erebus who helped me with all the code, and of course our resident graphic designer Eye of Error, who has designed the icons to go along side it.
Hope you all like it, and if you so choose, use it.
(In all honesty I found it just another gimmick at first but it is actually very useful - customising your notifications and quick links to things which would take a few pages to go through is very helpful.)

| Looking good, BUT: is it only on the iPad or do both the search icon and the little arrow on the top right hand side have little somethings on the corners of their respective boxes?
I don't know how to explain it, but it looks like there was a grid full of those icons tightly packed next to each other and then someone just messily cut single icons out of there. The arrow has what looks like the bottom of another arrow over it, while the magnifying lens has parts of other lenses in all corners? Really don't know how to explain it.

| Can I haz a button to watch new posts please? It's bugging me that I always have to go back to the main-page to search for new topics.
I really like the bar nonetheless.

| Kinnay - yes it does appear that two of the images need a little bit of tidying up on their borders.
SleepyPillow - can you explain what you mean, is this related to what Tony mentioned earlier in the thread? I am still getting categories and topics lighting up when there are new posts made.
Unfortunately the functions of the toolbar can't be changed, but if they can we will of course listen to feedback.

| New posts are lighting up for me, so I'm not affected by Tony's problem. The main-page got a "view posts since last visit"-button. I would like too use it without going back to the main-page, so I thought it would be a good idea to implement it to the toolbar. I thought you wrote the bar by yourself and implementing such an option would be a piece of cake, sorry. | |

| The problem Kinnay mentioned can be fixed by adding "background-repeat: no-repeat;" to each of the icons' relative selectors. I should have put that in there to begin with, really.

| And Sleepy Pillow, you can always just press the "actions" button next to "share". It'll give you the option to search for new posts since your last visit, amongst other things. | |

| I noticed a weird image artifact around the search icon and on top of the arrow. I know those were not in the pngs I sent over.
Coding issues?
Otherwise looks great!

Yeah. Unless told not to, the toolbar has an annoying habit of tiling images.
