It's basically a way of playing wargames, including 40k, over the internet. I've never quite managed to find the time to get into it as I'm too busy painting or playing in my spare time.

Vassal has also been subject to a cease-and-desist order by GW for IP infringement. Because this forum takes IP infringement very seriously, we must ask that any discussion of the game and how to play it, and battle reports of Vassal games, be conducted privately via PM, e-mail, or somewhere else altogether, please.

We do not prevent people using Vassal as a tool to create battle reports of non-Vassal games for posting here, since Vassal itself is not being discussed.
