| I want to know which one is better at doing other things with no upgrades, which one is better "all-around" (since they both cost 10 points with no upgrades) thx for feedback | |

| No upgrades -> Wracks. Both do next to nothing but wracks can take some beating.
But...
5 Wracks with liguifieir 60pts 5 Wych with haywire 60pts 5 Kabalites with blaster 60pts.
All have their pros and cons. It depends what you want them to do. All of them can be used and must be used to gain victory in tough matches. Every point spent must do something.

| What Vasara said.
"Better" is a very poor concept for DEldar. Everything is a specialist, everything is expensive, and not a lot works well on its own.
Fighting a dreadnought, haywire wyches, fighting a wraithlord wracks.
With few exceptions (mostly transports) we live and die on synergy.

| its sad that wracks cost so much in real money, cause if they weren't expensive, we would have a horde of them. | |

| Wracks have access to liquifier guns, wyches have assault grenades. I tend to use wyches as suicide AV squads and tar pit units. Wracks are good for holding objectives or removing units from objectives. | |

| wracks and wyches are two different units with two completely different jobs. The only thing they share in common is point cost.
Wyches are a tarpit/AT unit. Their drugs give them enough combat res and their dodge does enough to hold a unit in place long enough for another unit to set up for the kill. They can be kitted out to kill, but the points by then are usually better suited elsewhere.
The other build for them is as haywire caddies. Due to the addition of hull points, haywires are stupidly good now, and easily wreck even the hardiest tank with ease. That being said once they hit that tank, they are most likely going to die if not correctly supported.
Wracks on the other hand are a defensive/AI unit. Their T4 and FNP make them the hardiest troop we have access too. Add in cover, and its hard to move them. They can easily sit on an objective all game, and never get removed. Add in the ability to take one of our few template weapons at 1 per 5 man squad, and they become very deadly against infantry.
Both of the units can be kitted out to be good in combat, with Wracks handling any basic troop better, while wyches are better against elite infantry. Also remember wracks dont have grenades, so assaulting through cover is something they have to avoid like the plague.

| Hmmm.....I like wyches.....but on the other hand, I also like wracks - but which is better? There's only one way to find out: FIGHT!!!!! Contributes nothing, but anyone familiar with British tv is going to be loving it! On a more sensible note, wracks also give you the cheapest troop option as you can take them in threes. | and with the T4, FNP, they don't die as badly if they are in them.

The three you would see most common are these 3 wracks in dual cannon venom (95pts) or in a raider (90pts)People use this for a cheap scoring option and for the extra vehicle. 5 wracks w/ liquifer in dual cannon venom (125pts) or raider (120pts)this is your average wrack squad. They are really too small for assault, but bring their special weapon to play. Also if you have several of these units you can double or even triple team most other units in assault if need be. 10 Wracks w/ 2 liquifers, Acoythist w/ Agoniser (or another special weapon of your choice) in raider (210pts) This is your full assault kitted out unit. This is when you want a unit that can do damage while surivivng as well. They actually push out a decent amount of damage, but remember the lack of grenades hurts them alot. You also see a variant of this where its only 9 wracks and 1 liquifer, and a haemie w/ liquifier to fill in that spot. That gives the unit another cheap power weapon and an extra wound, but really needs the acoythist to take challenges for you)

| In my current list I'm using a Unit of 8 with a liquifier and Venomblade Acothyst. These are mounted in a raider and joined by a Haemonculus with Scissorhand and Archangel Of Pain alongside an Archon with PGL, Venomblade, Huskblade, Soultrap and Shadowfield. I'm not sure how effective it is so far, had mixed results, but given I have no Incubi it's the best Archon delevery system I can manage right now! | |

Buy yourself some Empire Flagellants from Warhammer Fantasy. You can use Dark Eldar heads and arms instead of their own, add some bits here and there, and you've got all the Wracks you want!
