| So I've taken a little break from my Dark Eldar recently, using my CSMs. But now i'm back. I've made some changes in my 6th ed list, gravitating toward more venoms, since splinter cannons are the BOMB this edition. This is what i'm planning on running in upcoming tournaments:
Baron Sathonyx 4 Trueborn with 4 Blasters, Venom with 2 SCannons 4 Trueborn with 4 Blasters, Venom with 2 SCannons 4 Trueborn with 4 Blasters, Venom with 2 SCannons 5 Warriors with Blaster, Venom with 2 SCannons 5 Warriors with Blaster, Venom with 2 SCannons 5 Warriors with Blaster, Venom with 2 SCannons 5 Warriors with Blaster, Venom with 2 SCannons 5 Warriors with Blaster, Venom with 2 SCannons 4 Beastmasters with 5 Khymerae, 5 Razorwing Flocks Ravager Ravager Ravager
That's exactly 1750. It's got pretty much all the tools to win versus any army out there. Toughest matchups are the standard Necron template of 3 Barges, 12 Wraiths, 4-5 Flyers and then whatever you want to fill in. Also Mech Guard can be an issue, but again in both of these matchups I can still win, it's just more difficult.
Thoughts? Comments? Hugs?

| Baron (check)
Lots of trueborn (check)
lots of scoring units (check)
lots of venome (check)
lots of AT (check)
awesome beast pack with baron (double check)
looks like you have the standard template for a solid shooty DE army. with a threatning beast pack that is hard for your opponent to remove.
all good things.
you know this list will kick butt! ;-)

| Nice! It might be worth switching some of the warriors for haywire wyches though. I find they make mech IG a less unfavorable match up. | |

| I personally would also happily drop a trueborn from every unit (and even a beast master with the 1 flock) to add night shields to the vehicles | |

| I would as well Massaen, but that would put more fire on the beast flock, while its normally a good idea, I doubt the beasts have enough resilence to take on the extra fire. | |

| What do Night shields add to blaster/Venoms? Bolters will still be returning fire? | |

| True, but they are much less likely to be rapid firing. | |

| thanks for all the comments!
There's really no point in taking Night Shields, as most of the time i'm going to up in the other guy's face anyway. Bolters rapidfiring or not rapidfiring, it's a moot point when the closest infantry each turn will probably be dead.
As to swapping out wyches for the warriors, I've found that without Haemonculus support, wyches die to everything so quickly that they can't get stuck in. However, at 2k I add some wyches with a haemonculus.

| The girls are indeed very squishy. But then 5 in a venom is there more as an AT threat. They do this far more reliably than the single blaster that 5 warriors take. And while they are by no means there as a major assault threat, after a unit has been softened by some splinter fire (and indeed their S 4 ap 4 blast) they can finish units off quite nicely, granting them the pain token they desperately need. Of course ymmv. | |

| Wyches and Trueborn was my thinking as well, although its not something I've ever playtested often | |
