| I didnt want to start painting my DE untill I read through the codex for some ideas and then while reading I noticed that the different units dont belong to the same Kabal. So I'm thinking only the Archon and the Kabalite warriors should be painted in the same scheme and then I can paint wyches in their own cult scheme, Incubi in their own scheme, & etc. Now I think this would be awesome cuz painting the same colors over & over gets old lol. No one in my gaming group plays DE so I'd like to know what you guys think. Though I did notice most of the models in the codex are painted as Black Heart Kabal no matter the unit.

| Plenty of players match an 'official' Wych Cult to a Kabal based on color, I know I do. All in all, it can completely depend on your own preferences. I like a cohesive looking army, but if you like variety, go for it. | |

| I think I'm going with different looks for each unit. But with that all units of that type would be painted the same. Exp: All Kabalites the same, all Wyches the same, & etc. I think more of an individual scheme for each unit will make them stand out instead of being like my other armies and blending in lol. I was just wondering if anyone else does this or has seen it before. | |

| What I am doing is having two colors for my whole Army, and one color denoting Kabal, Coven or Cult. That way is is a mix of army unity and type of unit pride. | |

| That is exactly what I am doing, Darkanis. My Kabalites are with blue highlights, Blaster/Lanceborn and Ravager charcoal grey with red, Wyches black with red left arm and hand, Splinterborn will be gold with red and so forth. Each represents a different Dark Eldar corsair warband, a different approach to combat and a different facet of the Wailing Doom.
If you wish, you can look at my project log and see how it works out. Link in my signature.

| Nice Siticus the Ancient models look great! I think thats the way for me to go also. I'm thinking purple trim for kabalite and red trim for the wyches (wyches just need a lil red for KHORNE I mean KHAINE lol) All my other armys are meant to match and DE seems to me to be more about making or buying alliences than a soild force loyal to the Archon. I'm still a ways from painting my models yet though. Im all about the fluff and how I'm going to tie them all together. Got to say though these DE models are awesome. When I get started and a camera I'll get some pics up. | |

This. I have a palette of black with purple, red and green. The models are mainly black with a main colour depending on what part of the army the unit is from. Kabal is purple, Cult is red and Coven is Green. The other two colours are used as spot colours.
