Hello all,

I am new around these boards, recently checked in my Resurrection Orb at the tomb world and I am starting up a raiding party.

My idea however, is a little different and I am not sure how best to realize it. In short my Kabal/whatever will be an organisation that out dates the fall and outdates the Craftworlds. Not really Dark Eldar but then not really Craftworld either. Perhaps having more in common with the Exodites than any other of their kin.

They will represent a martial house. Their martial traditions perhaps the oldest in the galaxy and they raid purely Space Marines as they seem them a as challenge to their Martial Traditions.

These Martial Traditions are loosely based around the Craftworld Aspects but without the changing paths.. so in essence every warrior is an Exarch.

Now make no mistake this does not make them happy go lucky Eldar, they seem themselves as utterly above other species and take great satisfaction in reminding lesser races who is the Elder(get it) race. They draw no side between the various kin of Eldar but stay insular thinking all of the modern Eldar as flawed and weak versions of themselves.

With that brain dumb out of the way. Please rip it apart telling my why it is a silly idea and how to make it a great idea Very Happy

I shall make a proper log at some point but for now here is my first model in progress who shall be my Archon for now until he does or I find someone better Razz

Sword definitely, looks more elegant and elder-esque than a clumsy axe.

I do like this concept a lot, plus there are hundreds of Eldar sub realms with. These guys could easily live in a sub realm that pays tribute to Vect in order to be left alone and still maintaining their old ways.

Any thoughts on what kit I could nab a suitable sword from? The one shown is from the Vampire Counts Terrorgheist kit and strikes a remarkable resemblance to the Sword of Omens from Thundercats... I think its a little too big though (looks big on a chaos lord conversion i was doing) so something smaller would be good... it will be a Husk Blade rules wise so I would rather avoid just using a sword from the DE kits and Dark Elf stuff makes them look like square basers immediately (although torsos seem to be ok)

DE do have a ton of great swords options though.

Fantasy swords are a bit small for the heroic scale of 40K.

You could always modify a Dark Angel of Grey Knight sword to fit. Just remove any imperial insignia.

I was considering scratch built blades for my Incubi. I might try them first and if it looks good follow that theme for the Archon as well.

Shall update when I have done some work on this guy Smile

That back story is similar to mine. My DE are white so I had to come up with a story to explain it.
