How do you use Lilith?

Just bought the model and was wondering how to make her effective.

I use her as a 'counts as' ...

I've seen some relatively clever pairings of her with Eldar Farseers, but in a dedicated DE only force she, unfortunately, doesn't really bring much to the table that we need, or can't get for cheaper.

Around 1,000 to 1750 you're usually served just as well using her as a Succubus. Because of haywire grenades and being killy enough to deal with the average small cost HQ.

In 1850 - 3,000 point games Lilith has done better for me. I think it's because the enemy is much more likely to bring uber HQs and/or fill the table with dudes. This means Lilith usually gets to take full advantage of her killiness or is more able to jump from assault to assault to assault.

She generally works best when you've got another fast moving CC threat, preferably a scarier and more durable one. And it's difficult to get the points for that in low point games.

Shes a mob killer. But her low strength is a huge problem, and we have mob killing in spades.
Its difficult to see what she offers over a basic succubus with agoniser, for nearly 100pts more

Mostly, the AP 2 and 3+ inv. When you're putting 4 or so ap 2 wounds on a chapter master or Kharn, he's probably going down, despite that artificer armor.

It's my general feeling that I'd rather have her in combat with terminators than boyz, cultists, or guardsmen.

3++ and 5++

I'm not sure how happy I'd be having Leilth in combat with a Termie squad. I mean, theoretically its fine, but one unlucky round is all it takes for her to get squashed. And she costs quite a lot of points for that to happen.

Well, if Lelith isn't in a challenge that 2+ Look out Sir isn't a bad tool to make use of.

Right. She's likely to drop two wounds onto t4 WS5 dudes. So... yeah. Entirely possible Karn or a chapter master with Str 6 or better will turn her into mulch.

For some reason my brain slipped and I forgot the unit of Wyches that will be stood around soaking wounds for her... but the point still kinda stands. Granted, you'd be very unlucky to lose her to a stray power fist with LOS, but it can happen. And as you mention, any combat character with S6 stands a decent chance of dropping her in one go... which is a lot of them, thanks to the need to penetrate AP2 leading to heavier weapons being really common now. A 3+ inv is awesome, t3 no eternal warrior... isn't.

Of course, that's like all Dark Eldar, and we have strategies for that in terms of picking on weak targets, avoiding strong ones - but not only does that leave a bad taste in the mouth using the Queen of Murder - but when you consider how many points you paid out for her and some meat shields, its not particularly economic.

also you have the fact that she's "to good" to use combat drugs as well. thats a big pain in the A**. +1S or re-rolls to wound would be awesome.

I've used her to great effect in a 1k list against Lucius, she came out on top even with 3 less attacks than she would have had! She is a great character killer as long as they don't have anything better than a 5++, she will make them fail a lot of saves because of her Penetrating Blade ability. Alternatively she can murder an entire squad almost by herself, she absolutely needs a bodygaurd though.

I like her over Succubi just for her special rules, yeah she's the price of 2 Succubi but IMO a lot better than both combined.
