Modelling Eldar Rangers Using Kabalite Warriors Ideas

I'm considering an allied detachment of CWE as of course it is fashionable this month. I've read a few threads in this section that Darkify the CWE detachment in some way or another... either by enslaving the farseer etc etc... I'd like to do something similar with rangers. My first impulse is to kitbash something with the Kabalite warriors box, but I haven't found something ideal yet. High Elf Archer robes seem a bit frilly... the Wood Elf archers like showing off their knees.

Here's what I've seen so far that is somewhat promising:

Kael Din's Trueborn (even if it's basically the reverse of what I'm going for here)




and Anything Worth Doing



I'd use the resin legs from Anything Worth Doing, but it looks like they've been discontinued at MicroArt studios. I also think the Kroot rifles look pretty good here as well.

Anyone else see any cool Ranger conversions? Also, sorry in advance if this should be in the distractions sub-forum.

I dont have any pictures but I used the hooded wood elf heads and gave them masks over there face. I also added the capes from the plastic wood elf kit and used putty to connect it at the neck. Then I just used Kabalite bodies and dark lances because they sorta look like a sniper rifle. Not sure if that helps or not.

One option is what I have been playing around in my head, and that is using the High Elf Shadow Warriors as bases for Rangers. Another option is simply doing what I did and going for a healthy mix of Kabalite and Guardian bits with a greenstuff cape and hood. Simple and effective. Thanks for the tips! I like what you did with gs capes... also the white armor in general looks pretty great. I was hoping to avoid having to make them, but I might have to make the plunge and just learn how to sculpt.

I have been looking for a similar solution. I am really considering going with more of a 'body glove' concept than a cloak.

I may go with a wych model peeking around some kind of ruins on the base. I may even greenstuff some splinter cell style goggles on there.

Again, it's probably the reverse of what you're doing but something to wet the appetite I hope .
