- We play on 4x4 because we trend to only have one table available at or houses for game days that 4 or more of us attend, though we have a huge forgeworld table booked at warhammer world soon that my wyches will be rushing up. It's going to be epic, just need to stay as sober as possible on the day.
I would rather have more games going on smaller tables than spend hours wasting my time, horses for courses... There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I'm only saying that it might make a difference for models that need to get up close, like wyches. But there I go, having opinions again. Agreed. That is a major difference and advantage for melee units to play on a 4x4 table.

Barking Agatha, having worked with your avatar, I can assure you that Siouxsie would never be caught speaking like that, unless someone was about to get a severe tongue-lashing! (Probably Budgie, or the monitor engineer!) I am following this thread with interest, as Wyches, particularly Raging Heroes' ones, are the reason I moved to DE, from Skaven-counts-as-Tyranids (yay me, stop playing an assault-based army that gets spanked in 6th, start playing another one!); I am determined to try and make them work, even if I have to lower my sights and hope to only win at friendly matches (I don't do tournaments, but most of my opponents do, and I am happy to be a sparring partner).

I only play DE because of wyches, too. I really, really like them. I'd say more about that, but I'm honestly just too jealous that you've worked with Siouxsie, and I really do mean it. You've killed me with that. I hope you're happy!

| regarding Wyches and Hams, I've found them to be a really good bonus for several reasons, when attached to a Raider squad.
They give feel no pain. That's quite handy for crashing raiders and durability. Upon disembarking, the Ham can be deployed to provide its own unit. That leaves the Wyches with Fleet and you can use he Ham to assault first. The Ham can soak Overwatch fire and keep the Wyches safe. Also, they can separate out and use a template weapon on a separate squad. Since kill points aren't generally an objective, I've found moat opponents ignore them for a turn and don't really grasp how devastating that flame template can be.
It seems to give the unit a few roles, not be overly burdensome on points, and improve durability of fragile units.
