Illic's Aegis Shenanigans

In putting together a list for facing some Necrons tomorrow Night I've found a pretty nasty Deathstar Artillary Unit:

Take Illic

Add:
Rangers upgraded to Pathfinders
Dark Reapers + Exarch w Fastshot
Aegis Defense Line with Either Quad Cannon or Icarus

Join Illic to the Dark Reapers

Stick both Units behind the Aegis, but in distance so that either unit can fire the Gun.

Since Both Units have Stealth + Shrouding you are looking at a 2+ cover save.

Either Unit can fire the gun so you have either:
Precision Shots on all the shots fired by the Gun (4x Twin Linked Quad or 1x Icarus)
Fast Shot that ignores Jink (5x Twin Linked Quad or 2x Icarus)

+ Illic shooting whatever he wants...

This can not be done in 6E CWE dex.
They would rely on some backing support from maybe a seer of some kind.
Still a fun tactic. Maybe you can send a battle report outcome on how this went...?

Master of Pathfinders rule... 13 pts per model...

Upgrades to Alaitoc Pathfinders...

Gives them Shrouded and Sharpshot...

Sharpshot makes all their shots (except snapshots) Precision Shots regardless of weapon.

Aha! I stand corrected. Thank you for that clarification.
I do not use special characters therefore I usually don't read up on their advantages nor what they may unlock. I'll be sure to read thoroughly through that codex before I make more mis-steps.

It looks good until a Helldrake (or three) comes along, vector strikes one unit and flames both (plus the gun).

Also note that illic does not have stealth...

True, although Shrouded behind an ADL is 2+ cover anyway so Stealth wouldn't add anything to that.

My necron opponent didn't show up, so I didn't get to experience all the benefits due to his hatred/preferred enemy Necrons.

Wound up using it vs Chaos Daemon + New Tau.

Proof of concept wise, it dealt out massive hits and pens, however my opponents made tons of saves and that sucked.

The Tau Markerlights were nasty against it as they remove cover. wound up going against 3 Dameons with vector strikes too. Wound up losing both games due to my crap rolling.
