| Ok so I've been playing 40K and dark eldar for years now (since the last codex) Thing is the other day i was flipping through the 6th ed rulebook and noticed that fast skimmers move up to 18"... last edition i remember moving 24". Did they make them slower? And plus I'm also confused because i've been reading online and people are saying raiders can move 30" now.

| Up to 12" in the movement phase with the option to go Flat Out for a further 18" in the shooting phase. | |

| Page 83, under Fast Skimmers - Quote :
If a vehicle is both Fast (see above) and a Skimmer, it can move up to 18" when moving Flat Out.
For quick reference, page 428 has a table of what units can move in the shooting phase, how far and the page number.

And you just believed him? It's true that rules are all over the place in the BRB, but I'm always surprised how many people just seem to play hearsay rules, rather than check (even checking after the game, for next time). Edit to say that isn't meant as any kind of personal criticism - I am genuinely surprised that a lot of people seem to do this.

In fairness, for non-fast, non-skimmer vehicles, it is 12 plus 6, if he doesn't play against fast skimmers it's not surprising. I've played against guys who've tried to convince me that my splinter racks give re rolls to splinter cannons, talk about playing nice!

| That's why I Always glue the loose splinter rifles you get in the raider kit together to form 'racks'. I believed at first reading the Codex it referred to racks of ammo; it refers to racks of rifles. I love the image of the Warriors letting rip with two simultaneously! Also, I agree about the BRB, talk about scattered info! The reference section is invaluable.

| I really hope that when the rulebook hits the iPad they've read people's comments on forums and done something about it. | |

Well I did not think of that - I'll apologise now for shamelessly ripping off that idea at some point soon!

| It emerged for me as a result of having a local Tourney organizer who is really big on wysiwyg. | |

| I am still at the steep end of the learning curve, and frequently find useful things out like the original poster! I highly recommend keeping a notebook with a page per unit, so that when you learn something new about specific rules to that unit, general rules that are handy for that unit, or even just tactica and mistakes you figure out for yourself, you record them, and cram-revise them whilst on the train on the way to your next game! | |

Good idea. I try to learn and implement one new special rule per game to work through the options. It was a happy day when I tried bladevaning for the first time!
