The Monthly Vow, July - time to paint those 3,000-dolla ...... 3,000-point Apoc formations

No Void Raven still, but hey, you can take three of them in a swanky new Apoc formation!

(Maybe.  I don't have the new book yet.)

Show us your progress with some WIP pictures and some more of the finished product.  We all need to get our plastic-fix.  And don't worry too much, we do operate on the honour system.  But there are specially-trained Wracks standing by though, just so you know ......


Count Adhemar: Urien Rakarth, Commander Farsight, 5 Wracks and 6 Fire Warriors.

Lord_Alino:Saint Celestine - (Converting to have wings and maybe longer hair) Painting: 8X Bolter Sisters , 1X Melta Sister, 1X Heavy Bolter Sister,  and maybe an Exorcist.

Evil Space Elves: Finish paint on 2 Epic 40k Thunderbolts, assemble and paint an Epic 40k Leman Russ company, finish conversion of a Wraithlord, paint 3 Incubi.

spellcheck2021: Convert and paint 1 Talos, a haemy and possibly the Raider from last vow.

Siticus the Ancient: one Wraithlord, five Wraithguard, Illic Nightspear, five Ranger conversions, six Warp Spiders, an Autarch and six jetbikes.

Shrike423 - finish remaining detail work on 1 Talos, a squad of 5 Kabalites, and maybe 1 Venom.

Gobsmakked - paint 23 Warriors, Ilic Nightspear, and re-paint 12 CWE Rangers. 

I'm planning on alternating between DE and Tau models for a while so hopefully this month will be:
Urien Rakarth
Commander Farsight
5 Wracks
6 Fire Warriors

I got some Sisters that I plan to work on
Saint Celestine - (Converting to have wings and maybe longer hair) Painting.
8X Bolter Sisters - Painting
1X Melta Sister - Painting
1X Heavy Bolter Sister - Painting

maybe an exorcist if I get the money

Won't really know what DE stuff to paint for rounding out any Apocalypse formation until after the rules come out and will have to add more later. For now:
-Finish paint on 2 Epic 40k Thunderbolts
-Assemble and paint an Epic 40k Leman Russ company
-Finish conversion of a Wraithlord
-Something DE for a new Apocalypse formation

Keeping it simple. Convert and paint 1 talos, a haemy and possibly the raider from last (failed) vow

No pressure everyone, but I do have the first item of my vow done:


keep in mind, these are Epic scale so they didn't take all that long to finish!  

Okay, this will be a busy month. Since there is an event I am preparing to in August, I need to paint a whole bunch of stuff until then. Therefore, I swear to paint one Wraithlord, five Wraithguard, Illic Nightspear, five Ranger conversions, six Warp Spiders, an Autarch and six jetbikes.

Alright. I might be a bit delayed on the uptake but I plan to finish:
Vial and remaining detail work on my talos
A squad of five kabalites
And maybe a venom for them.

Almost done with the Epic IG Leman Russ company:

I converted the commissar tank out of a standard Epic Leman Russ and converted a FW Vanquisher for the command tank.
Pics to follow. After these are done I swear that everything that I paint from here out will have pointy ears  

Might as well put this down as a vow for this month, since they have to be finished for a tournie this weekend and I just primed them all last week.

I hate tournament preparations.

And that something will be: INCUBI!      
I've been looking for an excuse to paint them for some time now but never found the motivation. I'm going to play an Apoc game in a week and decided that the spiffy Kabalite formation looks neat O'. Just need the Incubi to round it out. So in addition to the other stuff this month:
-a small unit of Incubi!

I vow to paint up and put together: wraithblades, wave serpent, and a spiritseer...oh and convert and paint one liquifier grot from a rat ogre...and hopefully a unit of warriors...though I doubt I'll get to them before my big 3k battle planned with my friends first weekend of august

Thanks facelessabsalom, *sharpens Huskblade*   I have corrected my error!

I am happy to note that I successfully completed my vow of painting 23 Warriors and Ilic Nightspear, and re-painting 12 CWE Rangers, in time for this weekend's local tournie. I am less happy to note my lack of success thus far in said competition

These Demolishers totally were not on my vow, but I pounded them out anyways:

1,000 pts of Epic Armageddon painted for the month! (About 1/3 of an average tournament army)

Very nice work ESE, as ever.

I'm going to be lucky to finish even half my vow this month. I've not done any DE at all and still have the arms of Commander Farsight to complete. If I have good nights today and tomorrow I might just get him finished and based before the end of the month.

Got it last minute. Here is the squad of Five Kablites.

Venom will be saved for next month... It is base coated btw.

Failed miserably

Finished the Fire Warriors and 90% of Farsight but only got as far as assembling and priming the Wracks and Urien. Oh well, I guess I know what I'm doing in August!
