Arena Champions and Heat Lances

Put simply, can Arena Champions in a Reaver Squad carry a heat lance? It seems more tactically sound to put all your eggs in one basket in this case, and I seem to recall somebody doing this. Looking at the codex, however, seems to indicate this is in fact verboten. Thoughts?

Also, what are your all's thoughts on WYSIWYG & Haywire Grenades in Wych squads?

It is verboten, though arguably somewhat grey. If you search the forum you will find similar topic (If I remember right there was one about giving a syberite a splinter cannon). Personally I don't do it as most opponent will have a problem with it in my experience. Also the champion can often be sacrificed to stop a character running amok through the unit in the hope that the reavers don't take too much damage but still break and flee (escaping to regroup next turn).

I think WYSIWYG haywire grenades is a bit extreme, do marines or tau have to WYSIWYG their frag/krak or photon grenades? Seems a bit silly to me. Sounds like one of your opponents is being a bit of an ass to be honest.  

Good to know. I think Hekatrixs can take wych weapons because their entry says "models" take them. The Reaver entry, on the other hand, calls specifically for "Reavers" when considering Heat Lances. I was looking for confirmation and a community perspective, so you hit that nail right on the head.
