Does anybody use the shattershard?

I know it removes someone from play when you activate it and its a decent upgrade for your haemy but i never see it in action dunno why? Comments please

i would say probably because its highly situational for 15 points one shotter. Plus you can look out sir the wound. <im dumb I don't know Id just rather spend points elsewhere

Actually I don't think it can be 'look out sir'd since there is no wound. Each model under the template simply tests and is removed if it fails. No wounds to be allocated and as such no 'look our sir' rolls can be made.

Your first point however makes sense unfortunately

I think it's one of the best arcane wargear items out there, only topped by the liquifier gun, because it's cheaper and not one shot.

And while it is situational, it is one shot, short ranged and suffers against higher toughness enemies; it ignores all saves, eternal warrior, wound allocation and no it can't be saved by look out sir, because it doesn't cause wounds.

My fondest memory of using it is removing Eldrad, Fuegan, an Archon and half a seer council in one go.

It's a pretty cool item, but the Liquifier gun performs roughly equal for less points and every turn. But the shattershard's a pretty cool item and I could see getting that and a Venom Blade in a melee unit for fun.

I did use Shattershard before the new eldar dex. Just because it was a good way to handle the deathstar. After that release I droped it.

Also, don't charge your IC at the front of a unit into a Haemy holding a Shard. You only get D3 hits with the Shard, but the IC will have to take them all.

Shattershard is good against opponents who don't know what it really does. A good player can negate it's effect a lot with model placing and general tactics against HQ holding it.

and after some of the comme ts here id take it only i had extra points bc everything has a chance to fail a characterisitc test 1/6 at least (if im rememberi g the brb right)...you could potentially remove a wraithknight in one shot

WK is not a problem for DE it's save is only 3+. DK or Riptide are more with 2+ saves.

and 1/6 is not that good chance to try oneshot those things away.

im not saying its our best option I just pulled the WK out of my butt as a big multiwound model. 1/6 isn't really that bad lol but like I said I wouldn't take it normally.

the shattershard is REALLy useful against T3 opponents, its okay vs T4. anything over T4 is just a waste

You auto fail a characteristic test on a 6 so yes, it is 1/6.
