| Im thinking wether i bring Duke Sliscus with 5 trueborn with 2 Splintercannons and 3 Shardcarbines in a venom with night shields and Dual SC or Bring the duke inside a raider with 9 warriors with splinter racks and a flickerfield. Oops wrong place to put it sorry. Thought i put it in tactics forgive me lol. The odds are quite about the same being average 10-13 saves. Which one would cause more saves on average thats what i want to know from you guys | |

| A Venom can only hold 5 guys in total... so that would be the Duke, plus 4 Trueborn (2 of whom have splinter cannons).
Might change the math somewhat...

| Inside rapid fire range the warriors cause more wounds. Outside that range it's the trueborn. That's assuming that the trueborn have to move and therefore only get 4 shots from each splinter cannon, and that you actually have 2 cannons and 2 carbines to make a legal unit in a venom with the duke. | |

with the splinter born(2 cannons+duke in a venom w extra cannon) being stationary they have 24 shots, with the assumed 16 hits they will cause around 10-11 wounds with the splinter born(2 cannons+duke in a venom w extra cannon) being stationary they have 16 shots, with the assumed 11 hits they will cause around 7 wounds warriors in a raider(with duke and splinter racks) in rapid fire range they will have 18 shots, with around 12 hits, 16 with twin-linked they will cause around 10-11 wounds warriors in a raider(with duke and splinter racks) not in rapid fire range they will have 9 shots, with around 6 hits, 8 with twin-linked they will cause around 5-6 wounds excluding the cost of The Duke, the splinter born cost 121 points, with the warriors in a raider with splinter racks costing 151 points so from this, we can see the difference between the two, it should be noted though that the raider does not have a flicker field and we could add a night shield to the venom and still be cheaper, i did not add another 2 splinter born with carbines because of the difference of range, in order to use the extra 22 points to get the extra 6 shots we half to be at 18" range, as opposed to 36" for the splinter cannon, but say we did, they cost 143 points for the squad and are still cheaper then the warriors in raider by 8 points, and this include the flicker field on the venom that is not on the raider. to me it is clear which i prefer

| One thing I want to mention is that the Duke is a pretty decent melee character so whatever you decide on, you're probably better off starting the unit on foot then splitting the Duke off to go with a melee unit. To this end, you should run 5 Trueborn in a Venom or 10 Warriors in a Raider. Just start the unit on foot with the Duke attached, then split the Duke and mount on turn 1. It might not be the most efficient unit, but hey it's the Duke. | |
