| Do you go with the rulebook haywire or the codex one? I'm going to start using them soon so I wanted an idea of what rulling to go with.
Has it been adressed and I just didn't notice?

| In any event last para on p7 of the small rulebook confirms that Codex takes precedence if there is conflict with the rulebook. | |

Their profile is listed on page 415 of the BRB. I'll have to check the codex when I get home to see what the discrepancy in question is though. In terms of Codex trumping BRB, it's usually the case though some profiles (like the Ork Lobba which has an old guess range profile) use the BRB instead since it's more updated.

| The difference between the 2 is that the version in the summary at the back of the rulebook does not roll for vehicle damage in addition to the haywire effect itself, whereas the codex version does. However, as this is a conflict between codex and rulebook, the codex version takes precedence. | |

| Because the DE codex rule says to resolve the shot as normal and THEN roll a further D6 to determine the Haywire effect, whereas the rulebook generic Haywire rule JUST rolls a D6 to determine the Haywire effect. If you want to see in the codex, it's p58 top left. This means 4 DE Haywire blasters shooting at AV10 have the potential to do 8 hull-points of damage, 4 from rolling 6's at strength4 on the initial basic armour penetration roll, giving 4 glancing hits, then a further four from the Haywire effect roll, which glance on 2-5 and penetrate on 6's. Does that clear it up? | |

| Here's the magic formula.
Basic Rulebook < Basic Rulebook Errata < Codex < Codex Errata
