| Has anyone thought about using three wracks and upgrading one to a acothyst an giving him a hexrifle then just having then sit in cover shooting at monsterous creatures or any high toughness models.
I used them against necrons the other day and they killed off a spyder, a lick guard and oberon.

| They are cheap and a low priority target so most people will ignore them, and you can give them a transport to run around empty and be anothe low priority target and shoot things Easy kill point though we have raiders and venoms so the point is kinda moot | |

| If you treat them as assault snipet rifles, then maybe its ok. Just for the sake of precision shots. | |

| Hmm.. doesn't really serve a useful purpose to me. Reasoning is two-fold..
I generally use 3 man wracks as cheap troop squads to spam out while sparing as many points as possible for units that will do serious amounts of killing. doubling the cost of the 2 man wrack squad for one sniper rifle that's highly unlikely to do anything just doesn't seem efficient.
That sniper rifle is finding targets with a T value.. which is what all of my poisoned shooting is going to be taking down anyway. so it's redundancy that i don't really need. sure, you'll get a lucky shot every few games, but in overall i think the points can be better spent on things we need more.

| I typically run a haemi with a hex rifle and a group of wracks with a rifle with him. Game wise they take out one maybe two targets a game.
I generally keep them in the back field on a objective in my deployment zone. They area cheap scoring unit that provides a few wounds for the haemi.
Generally I prefer to keep my hq away from any combat in order to not give up the slay the warlord point. It's rare anyone bothers them.

| I actually use them to go after high save opponents instead of high toughness as Eris said and a 55Pt unit that can take out anything and is never a high priority target can be very effective against HQ's that leave their retinue or monstrous creatures.
They can also be a cheap scoring unit if your army has a haemonculus or urien.

| Used 'em once; 3 wracks, acothyst w/rifle, haemy w/rifle. They managed to drop two rounds on my opponent's termie libby warlord, which he LoS'd. After that they didn't hit a damn thing all game. Never again =(
EDIT: Regardless of my lacklustre dice rolls, my issue with them is even if you manage to target a warlord or other IC, they can just Look Out Sir. So the best use is to target special weapons, and honestly I'd rather use the points to try take out the entire unit.

| to me they are a do nothing unit with a do nothing weapon. Better spend your points elsewhere | |
