Warhammer 30k Sons of Horus

This is the beginnings of a new Warhammer 30k Sons of Horus Army.

The Praetor is the Forge World kit with a modified back banner and Cthonian top-knot head. The command squad is fairly straight out of the box with the addition of an extra chosen added.

My entire Sons of Horus army will be on lava bases with an OSL glow effect on their lower legs.
























Contemptor Dreadnought

This is a fairly out of the box (bag) Sons of Horus Contemptor. The arms, waist have been magnetized and the base has been modified a bit.





















Justarian Terminator Squad

For this Sons of Horus Unit I built them mostly out of the box (bag) but went for an extremely Cthonian look with the heads. I also replaced the power axe blades with something slightly more chaotic looking. I might swap out some of the top-knots with different looking top-knots before painting. Right now there's 3 that are identical and that bugs me.

I wish I had the money and time to collect a 30K Forge World army. The models are gorgeous and I'm sure you will do your usual amazing job with them.

Here's my latest addition to the army: Sons of Horus Devastator Squad

For this Sons of Horus Unit I went for an extremely Cthonian look. I had to modify the MKII armor to fit the heavy weapons (they are designed for MK II mainly) and added top-knots, chaos heads, some trophies, etc, for a more aggressive look.

Can't wait to see these as you finish them Eye, I know you will do an amazing job as usual. It is a very good thing that I am not tempted by Beakies at all, FW or otherwise, because I wouldn't want to get into any more expense with this hobby. And all of these FW models are beautiful.

One comment about the devastators: their left hands looks all the same. Maybe a small claw, an open hand, or a tentacle somewhere could make them look a bit "different"

Sons of Horus Reaver Assault Squad

The Forgeworld Reaver assault models are awesome, but they lack jump packs as described in the first Horus Heresy Novel. Simple fix though.

I'm really into this modified MK IV armor and certainly planning on building more legionnaires with this armor down the road.

I like the Reaver Assault Models, they look very nice Maybe add some Sons of Horus Decal to one of the Chest Pieces though? Anyways, can't wait to see this army painted up, It should look beautiful with someone like you painting it

Luckily I am probably immune to much temptation from the FW HH stuff...until they do the Ravens, the Wolves, or the Fists.

I am thankfully not interested in the 30k stuff. That... might change once Thousand Sons start rolling out, though.

Thousand sons is going to be amazing, Might have to do a second army. It's bad enough that Emperor's Children are tempting me as well.

Sons of Horus Tactical Support Squad with Volkite Calivers

For this Sons of Horus Unit I built them mostly out of the box (bag) but went for an extremely Chaotic look with the heads. I wanted them to seem just a hint more evil than standard. I may or maynot add top-knots to some of their heads before painting. Not sure yet.

I like the tactical squad, and I think 2 top knots or more would look nice

This is an image in the Forgeworld Horus Heresy that depicts a Sons of Horus legionnaires in a mixed armor suit. I LOVE the way this guy looks and decided to mimic an entire unit after him.





The squad is a combination of MKII torsos, MK III legs, MKII & III arms, MKIII & IV backpacks, Maxmini tabbards and some plastic chaos heads. There was some minor detailing added to each figure to personalize them as well such as spikes made from toothpicks or skulls on chains.

How do you model your figs, convert, pose and take pictures so that they look very good even without paint?!

For this SOH Diemos Predator Executioner, I basically built it out of the bag with full magnetization and some minor additional detailing. I added Blood & Skulls Industry resin replacement treads (for the evil look), an SOH brass etched symbol on the rear door and an SOH Driver.

The tank is built with the option to swap out the Conversion Beamer for the Plasma Cannon.

Nice tank, I'll have to say don't paint it. It looks good the way it is!

that tank looks nice the way it is -all the resin and plastic, and the brass contrast- but paint it. PAINT IT! BE ONE WITH THE PAINT!

Kelbor-Hal & Dark Mechanicum Allies

I've wanted a reason to do Dark Mechanicum for a while and Warhammer 30k give me that reason. Kelbor-Hal always struck a cord with me in the art books. So damn creepy with his glowing tri-eyes.

Here's some artwork depicting him.






I made Kelbor-Hal from sooo many bits I can't even keep track. Maxmini & Zinge Industries were 2 of the sources I can recall. For him and his servitors I added an extra steampunk layer with brass watch gears. The Thalaxii support are straight from the bag with SOH icons on their one shoulder to show alligeince.

In the near future I'll be adding more Thalaxii, tech-thralls and basically every unit FW has made rules for.

Amazing work as always so excited to see what comes next!

Just a quick note on the heavy support unit - it's an illegal unit as all models must have the same heavy weapon.

The whole lot looks brilliant mind you!

Hey error your models are OMG sick ^_^ I'm currently building my black legion army for the supplement that's coming out. But after I saw your army, I felt jealous. Do you know how much money you put into your army to get an idea how much it will cost me. I'll still do it just need to know. I love dark mechanicum with sons of Horus. Hail Chaos!!!!!

Btw how did you convert the awesome dark mechanicum model with the tendrils?
