Hey, Commander Shadowsun is a battlesuit, so can we just use the model as a battlesuit? It would offer a ton of advantages for tau players if they can, because that commander is tiny. Just curious, I don't play tau, but I figured this is useful info
I may have misunderstood, but to me that sounds like using proxies just to gain an advantage. That does sound like dirty tactics, special characters always have different looking equipment than the rest of the army, no other battlesuit would have the smaller style suit. I would say, if I knew my opponent was attempting this, I would not play with him

Commander Shadowsun is wearing a prototype XV22 battlesuit. This is not the same as the XV8 Crisis Battlesuit anymore than Terminator Armour is the same as Scout Armour.
Presumably if you were happy with this, you'd also be happy with your opponent using Stealth Team models as Riptides?
