(Is this is in the wrong section?)
So, after the new eldar codex, I realized that the only difference between a single kabalite and a CW guardian is that other has splinter rifle, other has shuriken catapult.
Now I have started to ponder on why to prefer one over the other for tactical reasons.
Kabalites and Guardians cost the same amount of points, and they can both have heavier weapons (guardians with more variety, though), but I would still pick a 24" rapid fire rifle with poison over a 12" shuriken, even if it could potentially be armour piercing.
In my opinion, the kabalite would win. I am not going to do mathhammer but I would believe that in most tabletop situations, they would be more useful as well.
But when it comes to Dire Avengers, I just want to know which one would you prefer?
They have better armour (slightly), better leadership (slightly), longer range shuriken (still less than splinter rifle), they are still troops, and the exarch can be rather good upgrade that is difficult to compare to a sybarite.
But they are also more expensive, and I cant see too much difference between +5 and +4, so I still wouldn't like choosing dire avengers as replacement for kabalites.
A tie? Slight win for dire avenger?
Anyone else have any thoughts? One of the main things there that I pondered is also shuriken vs. splinter, I like comparing those two!
I am also trying to avoid comparing wave serpents to raiders but maybe thats okay too
