so played a game last night vs. grey knights. The whole purpose of the list was to see how a very large blob of beasts would fare.
My list:
Baron
Beastmasters : 10 dogs, 4 birds
5 wyches w. haywire in venom
5 wyches w. haywire in venom
10 Kabalites w. splinter cannon in raider with splinter racks
3 trueborn w. 2 splinter cannons in venom
ravager with nightshields
ravager with nightshields
ravager with nightshields
5 scourges w. 2 haywire blasters
5 scourges w. 2 haywire blasters
1500 points.
His list was something like:
Coatez
squad of servitors
deathcult assassins in stormraven
vulture
2 squads of grey knights w. 2 rhinos
2 dreadnaughts
the game was really decided by 2 things. He had horrible luck (dems the breaks sometimes). And really the two fliers in a 1500 point game was just too many points to not have on the board on turn 1.
I was really impressed with the volume of fire the beasts sucked up. In turn 1 he fired almost all of his army at them. (decimating me, but leaving me with 2 dogs, 2 birds and the baron). He then finished them off with the vulture when he came on the board (not much can stand up to an assault 20 twin linked cannon!!!).
I followed the advice of a number of you and largely ignored his fliers other than when there wasn't an alternative target to shoot at.
