| Greetings fellow Darklings! As the Games Day Germany draws near, i have the chance to do something i have been dreaming about, since the first time i got the DE codex into my claws. I am going to build a Arena-Tower. The main body will be the table-stand. And the "tabletop" will be the arena, in the shape of a pentagon, with each corner representing a finger/claw of a hand. FOr this table i have been building some poor captives fighting for their lives (a marine, a ork waaghboss, a kroot with his dog and some slaves) and beasts, beasts and more beasts. Namely the in my project log shown big spider, some venators, kyhmeras, an ogre kingdom beast and some other stuff. And of cause some hagashin fighting for glory. The leader of the hagashin cult will look something like this: The midlde of the battlefield will be decorated with this: Stay tuned for more wip shot of the table | |

| Holy . Wait, HOLY !!! Skulls are terrain piece (also, magic booster) from Storm of Magic, as upper part of Wych (DE Sorceress). If I'm correct Skulls are with this "Chaos Tornado" thingy, no? I wonder if You'll gonna use this If I may ask, make Ork Dead, alive, in 100+ pieces - don't care. | |

| Hydra, Hydra, Hydra, .......... sigh.
I don't know what is worse - being strapped down on the Haemie-table for a few mods, or getting slapped in the face with pics like these and then being tortured while we wait for more.
I have also had thoughts of building an arena as part of a DE tabletop, I am sure that this will provide extra inspiration and motivation. It looks great so far.
Is this part of a display or diorama, or is it an entry in a competition?
Cheers.

| Lovely looking hagashin! Really dynamic and with lots of movement.
Just confirms it will be an excellent base for my plastic Succubus/Lelith.

| I'd heard good things about you and did some lurking on other forums and found your Genestealer Cult diorama recently - I hoped we'd see something from you on here.
And we did. It is amazing, really really inspirational.

| Thank you all for the kind words! @ Local_Ork: Do you man an Ork as avictim? Or Gladiator? Since for the later we have one slaying his way around the arena. Will post pictures when he is painted. @Gobsmakked: This will be for the gaming tables presented on Games Days. We are doing a "fun table" so slightly moded rules. Everyone who wants can play a character and slay as much opponents as he can before he gets butchered himself. Kill Points will be counted and the one with the most will be declared "Arena Champion" post mortem, of cause Yesterday i had an idea... following the concept of the beastmasters i have shown in my project log. Starwars gives some inspiration and what arena would be complete without on of the famous "hut" family members? So here he (or she you can never tell) is as one of the onlookers: Java the Hut: Please excuse the rather rough sculpting, but i didn't had much time on my hands. PS: Thinking about giving him a little "snack" in the left hand. What do you think? | |

| If you manage to make the "snack" look like he's holding it, it might look good, but more often than not, I think stuff just glued to some hand just ruins it.
And great sculpting of the hut!

| @ speedfreak: well... i will try to make it look like he is actually holding it. I am just not sure what it shall be. I was thinking about a maggot-like worm. we will see... @Garfy: Thanks a lot Yesterday i had, during a learning break (preparing for my next exam right now) the feeling that java was missing something. And since i couldn't find my demonettes to make some decent female bodyguards, i found something else. And with the help (and my first test) of the "tube Tool" i gave him a little advisor. Having googled some pictures of Jabba, i realised, my sculpt was missing some texture, so i added some more ugly parts to Java. Here are the results: | |

| Ohhhhh... "tube tool" are those rubber plates with "rows", yes? Cool stuff, tho I like making wire from... wire more. Also... Jabba looks kinda like "Pizza the Hut" from Spaceballs with those "pepperoni" things on back.
Depending on paintjob, this would look either horribly wrong or horribly, horribly right.

| Hmm... I'm kinda dissapointed You didn't make something like hippodrome You totally could make it in size of whole 4x6 board. I mean... why not have some terrain inside? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3foX8eYaedI&feature=related | |

| A tad bigger and a completely different shape compared to what I have planned, but that is awesome Hydra. And huge.

| @Local_Ork: Thanks for the Input. I have thought about a roman theatre. But while i planned this table, i had in mind, that it was the top of a tower. And, though the roman shape doesn't forbide a tower-concept, I had in mind, that it had to be round. Some terrain would surely add to the atmosphere, but having looked into the "Daemonifuge" comic, where an arena is shorty shown, i though, terrain would block the view for the onlookers. @ Gobsmakked: Thanks Oh and if you find the time and funds, come along I planned on making it even bigger, but the homestore didn't have wood in the size i wanted. But i figure it is large enough. It had to have a decent size, for the arachnarog would have looked rather squeezed in. So here more progress: Still a lot to do... | |

| Well well... i owe you some pictures i guess, eh? Games Day was a blast. I was in the GD jury and so i had one of the best and one of the thoughest job there... looking at the most beautifull toy soldiers and judging which is better than the others. The rest of the games day was great, but sadly i did not have much time to see it. Interessting news for this board, is that someone is working at Forge World on a quite large (around thunderhawk size) thing and the already seen katamaran style thing is going to be released soon. So, aside from the pictures already floating around the web... here some shots on our stores FB-Page: Facebook. Sadly I can't post sample pictures... for some techno-mage stuff i can't understand. I haven't been idle in the last week though. A couple of friends and myself decided to make this supposed-to-be-the-summer-of-flyers, the summer of flyers, or Murderous Skies. I am deeply in love with the razorwing model, so i added another one to my growing air domination. But, inspiried by so many wonderfull minatures from GD, i took some more time on the base. I am planing on a third one to make the set complete Next, i decided that my beastmasters don't look much like beastmasters aside from the fact that they ride on beasts. Reading the background again, i decided that they all should have maskes to show what sort of beasts they control. So 2 Kyhmera-Heads, 2 Razor-Flock Heads and one Claw-Beast head was needed. The two Birdmen will get of cause two harpy heads. The others needed some bitz and Greenstuff action. Here they are: You can guess which one is which And now to the probably biggest project for this army sofar. The bomber. I don't want to wait until a model is available for this, so i decided to go for it. Inspired by someones conversion (i can't remeber whos, sorry) i got a vyper and a razorwing and set to work. Here is what i could manage yesterday: And finally a closeup on this crazy lances they have: I hope to finish him next week. Let me hear what you think a bout all that | |
