In the finals of my plantary empires campaign, I've got the face the eldar player, now I drew him last time, but it was because he had one bad turn of shooting and I hid my archon on the second to last turn behind cover and out of line of sight.

He usually runs warwalkers and wave serperents. He might run a few of the Wraith constructs, but I doubt since he knows DE guns are poisonous.

Sorry if I should have posted in a different topic.

First of all, plenty of Anti Tank could be useful. Think Reavers with Heat Lances or Blasters to pop Wave Serpents and those War Walkers.

Poisoned Weapons I would recommend, in either Raiders or plenty of Venoms. The key to fighting CWE is to know which units to hit with what. If utilising Incubi do not let them get into CC with anything that might prove equal or a challenge. Don't play fair: ty toake he ene play on your terms.

Playing both Dark Eldar and CWE as individual armies, though, I can see the issue with this. Mobility is one thing that we use to our advantage... but when the enemy is also highly mobile and has better armour than ourselves this can be a problem.

A main drawback that you could try to exploit is that CWE have lots of (potentially) expensive vehicles. I my first objective would be to try and drop off Warriors in cover an utilising the empty Raiders as weapon platforms and to block line of sight. The AT on Raiders, Ravagers and Reavers combined should be plenty to punch a whole in the foe's army in the first couple of turns. If you are worried about the Ignore Cover on the Serpent Shields keep them embarked until they are fired.

To deal with infantry I would recommend the basic DE infantry-slayer. Poison has proved, for me, to be effective against all sorts of foe. And, if he is unwise enough to bring Wraith constructs hen they will be picked off with relative ease.

Target priority is also something that I'd be concerned with. A simple Farseer has been all that has ensured a couple of my victories in the past. They're cheap for the amount of army-buffing abilities they can have and are rather effective.

Try and utilise terrain to remain in cover and block line of sight.

Make sure you are aware of any Exarch powers that have been taken. You wouldn't want your Talos to get into a fight with a unit that has Monster Hunter.

DE vs. CWE is probably going to be a very mobile, fast paced game with lots of fatalities in the early turns. Don't be disheartened if a large chunk of your force is destroyed early one. Adapt, tear out the enemy's heart and remember that we are the True Kin.

(Also, never forget about Pain Tokens!)

Would a defense line be a good idea to deal with the warwalkers? I figured I could use a warrior squad /w a dark lance to man the quad gun, and use the empty raider for antitank.

Personally, I would not take a defense line, although if it suits your playstyle then go for it. If he is taking a squadron then remember that the whole group suffers if one becomes damaged. With a Squadron HWG might be your best bet. With War Walkers having 2 HP's HWG's will strip through them, especially with Dark Light backup.

Edit: As for the Raiders, AT is a good way to go. You're probably not going to face a Phoenix Lord so the AP2 might not be of too much use, unless you use Disintegratos and get behind the enemy. That, however, will stop them from being effective roadblocks.

just be aware that his wave serpents are very durable, you're much more likely to glance them out of the skies than actually blow them up.
they also make for very good anti-DE platforms if they go for the standard loadout of scatterlaser turret + shuricannon underslung. between this and their serpent shields, they put out 4 twinlinked S6, d6+1 ignores cover S7 (twinlinked) + x3 S6 snapshots (twinlinked)
they are pretty bloody good and will easily rip through your raiders if you let them. the key is to play on a board with lots of LOS blocking terrain. you're gonna need to be able to hide your vehicles if you dont get first turn.

Incredibly, wyches. Do keep in mind that if a scatter laser even looks in the direction of a unit of wyches, they will all automatically drop dead, and if they happen to be on a vehicle, then the Raider or Venom will explode and they will all automatically die.

But... if they can somehow reach a wave serpent or a squad of war walkers, they will make short work of it.

So wych's are a good idea?

I was thinking 3 Ravagers, 3 squads of blasterborn, but not sure what else. Would the Duke be a good idea?

What about scourges? With the way our haywires work, they should make quick work of the warwalkers.
