| I've been looking for a new project to start now that my DE army is nearly complete. In the past I've always painted the basic rank and file models of any army before moving on the neat o' stuff. Breaking with tradition, the first model for this army is probably the coolest sculpt that I've ever had the opportunity to paint. (It was intimidating at first! ) *Sorry for the crappy lighting/cellphone pics Total nerdgasm painting this guy. I'll be ordering a a small amount of stuff Monday from FW to get this project going, though I will be taking my time on this project to minimize the strain on the wallet. The plan is to alternate paintig one cool thing or unit/5 core Troop models. Up next: 5 MKII assault marines. Cheers

| Started putting together the Rampagers squad that I'm going to paint for the first stage of the Hobby Progress Challenge at Theindependentcharacters.com My favorites are the non-Cadaere weapon (just chain axes and bolt pistol/CCW) models. I had some model chain left over and decided to mix Rampager and regular MKII models. The model on the far right uses a CSM torso with the chaos icon shaved off. I've ordered the brass etch kit and MKII powere weapons kit from FW and will put an WE icon on the torso and one of those cool broad axe PW's when they arrive No pics yet, but the Centurian with Excoriator chain axe is coming along nicely | |

Makes him look even more psychotic. I get more complements on the stubble than I do on the rest of the model! (I guess it was a good call )

| I love those rampagers! The combination of different kits is allways a good idea! And please show me the Centurian! | |

Mixing the different MKII-IV's is always awesome, and especially fluffy for the World Eaters given all of the battlefield repairs generated by the close combat emphasis. I'll get a pic of the Centurian this weekend. It's really just the Praetor in MKIII armor with an Excoriator from the Rampagers kit and a little bit of modeling chain. I'm going back and forth on the head as the Praetor head is a different scale(smaller) than the Rampager heads. I'm not a huge fan of the Rampager heads(bad Bedford sculpts), but I do love the juxtapose of the stoic pose of the Praetor body with the savage double-handed chain axe. It just looks like that scary quiet butcher right before he snaps....

| Shoulder pads and other goodies came in, including these: People love or hate the look of the Scimitar bikes. I was firmly in the HATE category until I saw them in person and read the rules. They fit the World Eater "tactical mindset" (rush forward, kill stuff). Now that I have assembled them I can't wait to slap some paint on them! I'm trying out Small Victory's urban rubble basing using Super Sculpey as detailed in the tutorials. Still waiting for it to harden completely, but will post pics when I get them together. [EDIT] got them done! | |

| Wow, haven't posted here in a while! This is the completed shot of the 1,000pt Zome Mortalis force for stage one of TheIndependentcharacters.com Hobby Progress Challenge: I just finished assembly, basing, and attaching the brass etch/chains to 5 Cataphractii Terminators. Can't prime them though-it's actually raining in California today! | |

| Very, very nice indeed. I probably can't say anything you haven't heard before so I'll keep it short. I really like the extra chains rapped around the armour and the colours are really well executed. Great work | |

| Thanks Cavash! I did want to post a closeup of one of my favorites from the army: Very basic conversion work, but it was a total blast to make and paint. | |

| Good heavens, these guys look amazing! Why do you tease us so without many many pictures of close-ups? I really want to see all the detail on the armor!
Fantastic work! Dying to see more finished World Eaters!

| I love the finish your painting style gives off. Its looks so gritty and... well... GRIMDARK!
Is there any chance you would be able to put together a tutorial for the blue and the white? (in amongst yout obviously massively busy schedule!)

Thanks! I figure the World Eaters are always in the thick of it, and wouldn't worry about polishing up the armor. They're certainly not like those fancy-boys in the Emperor's Children - Dragontree wrote:

I have one here: http://www.theindependentcharacters.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=6227&start=180 Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

| Man I am loving all your world eater heresy stuff! They look great. The only thing putting me off fro starting a heresy era force is the prohibitive cost for all the models . Love to get a mechanicus force. Look forward to seeing that gun atop the tank. What a beast | |
