Dark Eldar Highlander Lists

Something that caught my eye is the idea for Highlander lists at the Caledonian Uprising tournament this weekend.

What is a Highlander list?

I have relaxed it slightly at Cally ’14 by allowing Troop choices to be duplicated but this still includes dedicated transports (only one of each max).

For example you may take a Heavy Support Land Raider and a Heavy support Landraider Redeemer but may not take a Dedicated Transport Landraider and a Heavy Support Landraider.

You may take multiple vehicles within a Squadron (if the unit entry allows a squadron).

Try and make an 1850 list, added bonuses for those who don't use Eldar or Inquisitors.

10 Wracks w/ 2x liguifier guns, in Raider.

FAST ATTACK - 402

9 Reavers incl. Arena champion w/ venom blade, 3x blasters.

Beastmaster pack w/ 1: 4x Khymerae, 2&3: 2x Razorwing flocks.

HEAVY SUPPORT - 300

Razorwing Jetfighter w/ splinter cannon.

Ended up with something like this

Long story short, Baron goes w/ Hellions, Haemonculus goes w/ Kabalites and sit behind the ADL, Haemonculus firing the Icarus. Fast units try to steal attention from the scoring units, backed up by wracks and Hellions. Raven takes care of enemy flyers and Razorwing lays death to ground troops.

I have believed for a long time that the game's balance would be very well served by all non-troop choices being (0-1). Not being able to spam an elite, FA or HS slot would mitigate a LOT of the power/cheese issues.

I've actually run something similar to this in recent years, though it did not allow duplicate troops, but allowed for duplicate dedicateds. So making some adjustments to that list..

Im accually going to a tournament this weekend that uses highlander comp. Although, you may take up to three of the same troop and transport.

The point of the tournament is to bring fun lists with variation. The TOs will also give the lists an individual compscore depending on how hard/soft the list is, hence the Chronos and no ravager for example. Turboboost everything turn 1 and deepstrike Scourges, just for fun!
