| So, here is the list as best as I can get it so far
Duke Sliscus w/ 9 Kabalite Warriors in Raider
10 Kabalite Warriors in Raider
10 Kabalite Warriors in Raider
5 Wyches with Haywire Grenades in Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons
5 Wyches with Haywire Grenades in Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons
Ravager with Night Shields
Ravager with Night Shields
3 Beastmasters with 1 Agoniser and 5 Khymerae and 4 Razorwing Flocks
1 Aegis Defense Line with Quad Gun
6 Reavers with 1 Cluster Caltrops
1499 Points
So, the basic strategy is to deposit the Duke and the Warriors at the AGL to provide mid field suppressive fire and much needed anti-air capabilities. The Dukes BS of 6 being perfect to man the gun and the Warriors to help hold the line. The Warriors act as objective grabbers with the raiders for anti-tank. The wyches were kept cheap, only Haywire grenades as upgrades as throwaway anti tank killers, 60 point tradeoff for the heavy boxes that the lances cant take down, going after the big points, AV13 or AV 14. 60 points dead in a suicide wyche squad to drop a 250 point heavy slot seems worth it. The Ravagers act as anti-transport and light vehicle, air if need be. The beastmasters would act as either a tar-pit, objective denial, or simply a CC unit. 5 wounds and 5 attacks on the razorwings makes for 24 rending attacks on the assault, with 20 S4 attacks from the Khymrae who have the 4++ invul and an agonizer attack from the Beastmaster himself. A decent CC unit for DE. And the reavers will be providing cover via turbo boosting, general annoyance unit, with bladevane and cluster caltrops to inflict some wounds on light infantry
As I said, any help would be appreciated. Much thanks

| You're short a Beastmaster, you need 1 for every 2 Flocks.
I don't have experience running Nightshields on my non-Ravager vehicles, but I would worry that the shields on your Wyches' Venoms may not provide too many benefits if these transports are going deep into enemy lines to deliver their payload of HWG.

| Thanks. That was a typographical error on my part. Still 1499 points. Point made with the Venoms. I think I threw those on their just for uniformity. Not sure where to put those 20 points if I took them off. Thanks though, it does seem a bit of a waste if they are heading into enemy lines | |

| Just having a quick look I would swap a lot of the night shields for flickerfields all except on the ravagers. Because if you want the warrior raiders to pump a lot of poison out then the splinter rifles need to be within 24 as a maximum and most likely closer so the night shields will probably be negligible if your'e that close and the same goes for the venoms. The wych squads want to be up close and personal and the venom already comes with a flickerfield so that saving you points on those 2 right there. With the dukes trueborn squad, if they are going to sit stationary I would want them to have maximum range on there shooting so your'e less reliant on the enemy coming to you so the shardcarbines don't seem worth it with there reduced range. Again that is points saved for other things. On the whole the list looks solid to me. But I am sure other can give better advice and the above is just my opinion so feel free to ignore | |

| Thanks for the advice. I went ahead and removed the night shields from the vehicles, and switched out the Shardcarbines to Splinter Rifles on the Trueborn. This allowed me to add in a unit of Reaver Jetbikes with Cluster Caltrops to act as a harassment unit/ provide cover saves via turbo-boost to vehicles/ bladevane + cluster caltrop wounds and hopefully distraction fire from more pressing targets by just being generally annoying. I went ahead and made the changes to the list above | |

| Personally, I don't think the Trueborn you're running with Sliscus are worth it. For the additional cost above a standard Kabalite squad, you're not really getting that much benefit over the potential for another Splinter Cannon. For a unit you're planning to move around (as well the should) I think you should drop the Trueborn and use Warriors instead. In my experience, Trueborn are only useful if the unit is being kitted out with special weapons (Blasters, etc). I'd only really bother with them for this type of use if I also gave as many Shardcarbines as I could. Otherwise the rest are just a watse when they could easily be Warriors instead.
Otherwise it looks ok and balanced, but I am left wondering - if you've got everything mounted (as well you should) who are you leaving behind to man the Quad-gun? Surely not the Beats or the Reavers?

| The Duke and the Squad he deploys with are manning the Quad Gun, utilizing his BS 6. The squad he is with is basically a sponge to protect the duke, pump out some poison 3+ shots and because the Duke is required to deploy with a Warrior or Trueborn squad it allowed me to bring another lance vehicle without taking up a FOC slot. Looking at the stat lines of the warriors and trueborn though, a stationary unit does seem like warriors would be more cost effective and equally up to the tasks I just described. And an emergency scoring unit if need be. Trueborn only seem to be at their best when loaded for bear and out on the prowl | |

| Thanks for all the advice. Updated list edited. Only thing that bothers me is I could drop 1 reaver and put splinter cannons in the warrior squads. I just don't like the mix of 9 rapid fire weapons and 1 assault/heavy weapon. In this edition if you are assaulting with DE Warriors you had better have no other option. Hopefully they will be utilizing cover, moving, and shooting. Makes it hard to justify having a mix of splinter rifles and a splinter cannon. But as I said, I am new to DE, so I am not sure how the addition of a Splinter Cannon affects their combat usefulness and survivability on the field. | |
