New to Warhammer and Dark Eldar

Hello everyone =) I've recently just gotten into the wonderful hobby that is Warhammer 40k but I'm still at the beginners stage

I was wondering if any of you lovely people could help me out/point me in the right direction of tactics/building an army list/ what models to buy etc. before I spend a bit too much money

So far I have one Battle force box, 10 extra wyches and 5 Hellions but I don't know where to go from now... I've tried a 600 army list but both games haven't gone well

I've had players coming up to me in my shop saying you should go this way or that and it's all just a bit confusing. Also I getting owned by 10 year olds with Space marines so if anyone could help me recapture my pride it would be much appreciated haha =)

I think what you have sounds like a solid foundation.

Ravagers add some much needed anti tank to the army and are a great choice and while in the same slot, the Razorwing is a great model and adds a similar function.

As the basis of most lists are a few Venoms which though not durable, add plenty of firepower and speed.

The best way to pick an army is to read the codex and pick out any bits that really appeal to you. Particular units and/or fluff. Just go from there.

Thanks for the welcome guys, since my last post I've invested in Duke Sliscus and have been experimenting with some Harlequins. They've done all right but it always depends whether I get first turn or not. I like the look of the Venom spam tactic but it seems a bit boring....

I'm in love with my Reaver jet bikes, they just sweep infantry units with bladevanes and caltrops, So I think I'm going to invest in some of them...

For now I can't decide between Wracks or Incubi, there are good arguments for both and I've heard different things from a lot or sources, any help guys?
