Hail and well met,

Having lurked in the shadows of this site for some months, as a budding player, I now choose to reveal myself to you all, as a fellow Dark Eldar warrior.

Although I have been associated with tabletop gaming for some years, I have only just bitten the bullet with 40k within the last 9 months or so.  As I have also generally played Dark Elves in fantasy games to this point, it seems sensible to continue with the same race in the 40k universe.

This site has been invaluable for allowing me to shape my game play, especially in terms of both the identification of the different troop types and advice on how they should best be used.  I have played one proper game so far (a narrow win against Eldar), but am still in 'training' mode.  I will obviously need to continue referring to the sage advice offered by you, my fellow denizens, in the hope of one day gaining a proper understanding of the 'glass hammer' that we wield. The tactics guide published within the Tactica thread on the site, has already proven invaluable in both progressing my understanding and shaping my DE force.

Though I see you signed up before I did which makes this rather strange... So welcome to being a non-lurker then, I suppose.

Some of us take longer to emerge from the shadows than others. That said, I have always felt that this site is both amazing as a DE resource and (if you wish it to be) highly immersive.

At the moment I am using force lists that are quite conventional (Archon, True Born (in Raiders) , Kabalite squads, Reavers & Ravagers). What I am now looking for is to expand on my force type usage, exploring the more exotic troop options, yet still maintain a competitive force. Very tricky.

Actually that should have read .... True Born (in Venom), Kabalites squads (in Raiders).....

I hearty recommend putting your archon with a hammy and 4 grots in a raider with sails and boosting straight to their line. I've only recently started using it and it adds a bit of variety to mass shooting armies. There is also a bit of shock factor for t5 models to be coming out of our transports.
