For me teh soul trap is the most fun Item in 40k , the twisted delight I get from trapping my opponents favorite hero/s gets me all tingly ... having str 10 is never to shabby either when invariably you go first and hit on a three...
SO to that end I'm creating this discussion for people to list some of their favorite trappings and possibly give us a bit of a gloaty narrative.
G'wan let your inner Archon off the lead for a bit .
Moo hoo haa haaa haaaa !
I just recently rolled out a husk-trap archon again as I wanted a change from running the Duke/Baron
First game we won't discuss but I got a shocking case of 'first game' syndrome had the initiative seized on me and proptly failed pretty much everything, Including my Archons first save (VS a pfist) after he had failed to inflict a single wound with 7 attacks ...
Following game things picked up a bit an he managed to bag himself Belial and a chaplain. I had trouble getting my head round the fact that my Wyches seem to be able to beat absolutely everything in CC including thundernators.
My most recent game was VS GK , I was really not looking forward to it as I feel Ward has essentially written a book specifically for killing DE, yes moreso than deamons (psycannons/psyflmen/halberds)
So I went in prepared for a really hard game, details aside *gloat activated* I manged to pull out the win but in the process I managed to soul trap Driago on turn two (thas going to keep me smiling for a loong tiiime)
Two turns later Lord Vidious, using Driagos stolen life force hacked down a dreadknight before it had a chance to swing Succesfully feasting on the soul of it's pilot to make the Jump to str10, my opponent had a unit of purifiers (his only unit left) looking at a FNP+FC unit of Incubi with a str 10 archon with 7 attacks on the charge , he decided to concede mainly because the Archon would eat them despite their halberds, Soul-Trap FTW
Over on the left flank my wyches slowly ground his paladins to death in cc over several turns....
I really enjoyed that game
Imperial hero's, gotta catch em all ....
