What have you shattered lately?

We have the thread about stuff getting eaten by Soul Traps but I was wondering who uses the Shattershard and what people have killed with it? Last night I fielded my Dark Eldar against Tyranids and while I don#t count on the Haemies doing much other than giving pain tokens to the Wyches they escort at the start I do give them shinies. So, turn 4 of the game and the Tyranid army has been gutted, I fly my raider over to the Tyrannofex sitting in the Nid backfield and let rip with the Shattershard, one failed toughness test later and bam, 200pts of monstrous creature slagged by a 15pt piece of Arcane Wargear. It'll likely never happen again but moments like this are golden.

So far I have heard of people who are really having a good time with a Haemonculus Ancient with a Soul-trap, Huskblade and a Shattershard. The Shattershard can be combo-ed with the Husk-blade and the Soul-trap to give an interesting prospect of killiness.

I've only used the shattershard a couple of time, and I just haven't been impressed. Ive shot into 10 marines and not killed anything.

yeah, the shattershard is circumstantial at best , needing 5's to do anything to the 'average' model in the game is not brilliant, I prefer likky guns all things considered.

best run to date was 8 dead FNP marines to one LQ gun,

it could be worthwhile vs assault termies "in theory", but assault termies are a joke for DE to deal with anyway.

Both my Haemies are already packing Liqquies, I'm just a sucker for something that can do that much damage. I am thinking of trying Venom blades on my Hekatrix's though so that would save me 30pts, if I trimmed the Arcane wargear from my Haemies I go up to 55pts so I could spend those points on something else.

I can reccomend a heamy with a vblade in a squad of wyches with a vblade hek, yet to let me down, which is good as I think agonisers cost too much, wound saturation = win

ha I shattered draigo and 4 paladins. One of the luckiest rolls of my life, but hey, it worked.

I have better luck with the trap so far but I haven't thought of using it with both the shattershard and trap - very evil.

I have only used it once and the interesting thing is I used it against a Space Wolf player that was just really "hot" with dice. Not having a choice of targets and knowing I would get charged anyway I decided to use it against a squad of Grey Wolves. He decided not use his banner and out of 6 marines, 4 failed the toughness test as I mentioned, the opponent was rolling "hot".

It's a lot more points than that, Tyrannofexes are hilariously over-priced. More like 250pts base, and that's without the 15pt gun you have to buy to make it vaguely useful.

How about the Animus Vitae? It seems like it could be a bit fun, earning pain tokens almost whenever you kill someone, but with S3 and saves I dunno...

Haemonculus jumped out and took aim at a squad of Nob Bikers and Warboss, covering the Warboss and 3 Nobs.

i like the idea of the shattershard but have not tried it yet

Used it over 6 games at a tourney...

By the end i had taken out...

SM Captain on bike
2 Wolfguard
6 space wolves inc 2 mark of the wulfen, 1 wolf banner and 2 melta guns
3 paladins with 2 psycannons, 1 hammer, 2 halberds

not to shabby at all!

Thats from 4 games as well... i forgot i had it game 1 and game 5 saw the haemy die before shooting it

Last two tourneys I've been to, I've shattered

Farseer and 4 Warlocks on bikes
Deathwing apotechary and two other terminators
2 Wolfguard
1 Scarab base (Had to blow it on something before I was going to get killed)

The Farseer in particular pretty much won me the game. The opponent had invested half of his points in the jetcouncil, and with rerollable 3+/4++ saves destroying it was going to be a pain.

I don't think I've gotten anything spectacular with it, more along the lines of sniping out Painboyz, powerfist Sarges, meltaguns, etc. I keep hoping to nail Coteaz and/or the grenade-tossing Techmarine in a friend's list, but no luck yet.

Took the shattershard once, killed one marine. Awesome incredible crystal of death? No , would have made more sense for my heamy to whack the marines in the face with it, would probably have done more damage too, heavy those crystals.

I like the shattershard, as I play eldar a lot, and he has the worst tactic of a seer council with eldrad in, and re-rollable invulnerable saves, I always find myself using a lot of fire power trying to get through them to kill eldrad. So I used a web way portal, and my haemmie with a hex rifle I think it's called and shattershard, or there was 2 I can't remember, anyway I shatterd ALL of the warlock bodyguards and then rifled eldrad. Happy days for me
