Scourges

I'm trying out the expensive combination tomorrow night, Archon with WWP, Shadowfield, agoniser and Blast Pistol joining 5 scourges with 4 Heat lances, and a solarite with blast pistol and power spear. Yes I know it's a hell of an investment, but the game I'm playing is 1250 so this unit becomes my main AT choice. Added to which, the shadowfield on the Archon will help to protect against return fire (I'm under no illusions it will stay working for too long though) and the combination of AP1 assault fire with two power weapons in the following combat should give the unit a bit of redundancy.

Haywire blasters are listed under heavy weapons profiles. So essentially is a completely counter-intuitive weapon for a deep striking 12" moving unit. If I am missing something please enlighten me. I would love to run 4 HWB. Heavy makes them stay stationary though..

Assault 1 in my Codex.

The weapon type is not heavy, it's assault, listed in the weapon profiles both on the summary page at the back of the codex and the armoury section. The Heavy/Special lists are merely there to differentiate which weapons you can choose from for the purposes of Kabalite warrior squads etc (ie a squad may take 1 special and 1 heavy weapon for example). It is a daft way of listing the weapons though because it can cause confusion.

Yea. It may be listed under "Lollipops" category, but if profile says its an Assault 1 weapon, thats what it is.

Can I just ask where everybody is getting these 4, even 8 haywire blasters from. Did you all buy 4 boxes of scourges. ?
