Sunblitz brotherhood (new DE army :) )

Hi all!

Well, this is my first foray into Dark Eldar, I'm very impressed with the reboot of the codex and miniatures!

I picked up the codex and a box of scourges, as thats all the store had for now, I painted them up last night:

I've gone for a ligher colour scheme than tradionally.

I've just bought a box of warriors, and a box of ghouls to convert into wracks (and a Fuegan of Ebay to convert into an Archon for now).

I love the Vipers, but am still unsure about the Raiders... has anyone had any good dieas to alternatives for these?

I like the skull conversion. I have something similar in my own army.

I like alternative schemes. This one looks pretty good so far.

Not sure about alternative raiders, best I can think of is a surfboard, but that's not really very helpful.

The raiders are based on ancient Mediterranean sailing ships, Biremes and Triremes, so I suppose any kind of sailing ship design would work.

or you could revere it and make them into some kind of giant hang-glider of doom, althogh you would likely get killed on the line of sight aspect of it.

I'm going to think on this and post if anything comes to mind

These are great, nurglespuss! It's always good to someone doing something different conversion-wise, and the skulls and the squad leader's wings are very nicely done. I like the colour scheme, too.

To me, the squad leader has a certain 'surfer dude' look, so GAR's comment about surfboard transports for the rest of your army may not be so much of a stretch after all If done right, they could be made to complement the new-style Hellions.

When I make up the rest of them I'll take some photos in progress.

The robes are modelled around a piece of bent sprue, pinned to the base, using a rubber tipped modeling tool (and a sharp tip for some deeper creaseing).

The scourges just need basing (but I'm going to base the whole army at the same timw when its finished)

Hmmm. Very interesting.

The lower body of the wracks are made from..? Green stuff or some other models?

I'm not sure, and I am familiar with so many models I half way think of the old Vampire counts wraiths but I'm just not sure. Or at least that it bears a striking resemblance. its kind of creepy, in a good way.
