The Kabal of Warped Lucidity

(Disclaimer! The following may be considered disturbing! But as Dark Eldar players, you should expect that!)


The Kabal of Warped Lucidity(founded 993.M41) is not the largest of kabals, and yet it is not the smallest. The Warped Lucidity's spire lies in a small district known as the 'Hellion's Faire', so named for the frequent and ultraviolent Hellion attacks in the area. Strangely enough, the Kabal's spire is not just adorned with the corpses of Hellions, slaves, and the kabal's enemies. Dessicated remains of some of the Warped Lucidity's own warriors can be found swaying lifelessly in Commorragh's stale breeze. A grim message not only to those outside the spire, but those within it as well.

The Archon of the Warped Lucidity is an insane and sadistic soul by the name of Ten'Dhariis. A Trueborn who, as a young adult, was grabbed from the shadows while straying from his family's weapons shop and taken to an abandoned laboratory by a gang of tubeborn(is that the term?) hopped up on Adrenalight and filled with hate of trueborn in their drug-saturated veins.

Beaten to a bloody pulp before being hooked up to one of the aged torture devices of the lab, the young Ten'Dhariis, an aspiring Dracon of the Kabal of Blackened Maws(since destroyed, something about a mysterious accident with several risky tyranid biomorphs) at the time of his capture, was sure death was just around the corner. Well, around several corners and side streets, as these ruffians were likely to make him suffer.

As Ten'Dhariis' torturers attached him to a particularly grim looking device, the unsettling noise of bone scraping on old broken tile that came from the shadows of the lab attracted the attention of attackers and victim alike. Appearing from out of the darkness was the disgusting byproduct of centuries of fashionable fleshcrafting and self-experimentation. An ancient Haemonculus, its skin like dry, cracked leather, lumbered toward the intruders with Liquifier Gun raised, its acidic ichor making its way up the tube that connected the gun to its arm, all while the creature's tail-like spine dragged along the floor.

Without so much as a warning, the Haemonculus pulled the trigger and drenched Ten'Dhariis' would be torturers with the acrid fluid. The look on the creature's face as it drank in the suffering of its prey was hideous to behold, but Ten'Dhariis was relishing in the pain as well, and thus was too distracted to notice.

After freeing the young Dracon and embracing him like a dear child for far, FAR too long, the thing introduced itself as Naz'Vessht, a Haemonculus Ancient. Naz had been mourning the loss of 'his' favorite Talos in the shadows of 'his' laboratory for over 200 years, it went on to explain, and so 'his' Coven had forgotten about 'him'.

Naz'Vessht's relationship with Ten'Dhariis is a very disturbing one indeed. Naz at first felt a very maternal/paternal need to watch over the Dracon as he rose to power within the now destroyed Kabal of the Blackened Maws. As Ten'Dhariis matured and grew into a man, the relationship between the two turned into a vaguely sexual one. The ancient creature, with the use of many powerful narcotics and promises of more funding, managed to extort the young Dracon into sleeping with 'him' on more than one occasion, much to Ten'Dhariis' chagrin.

Around the time the Kabal of Blackened Maws collapsed, Naz'Vessht came to the now 'kabal-less' Ten'Dhariis with the papers for an old spire in the district known as the Hellion's Faire. Gathering up the surviving members of the Blackened Maws, Ten'Dhariis set to rebuilding the spire and named himself Archon of a new Kabal, the Kabal of Warped Lucidity.
