So, I just got the covens supplement (finally) and built my first 2k list, taking it to game Wednesday, but I'm wondering if it's going to need some tweaking first. I know it lacks some AA, but I don't expect much in the way of flyers...

Dark Artisan Formation:
Haemonculus: Flesh Gaunt, Scissor Hand, Syndriq's Sump, WWP
Talos: Chain Flails, Twin Linked Haywire Blaster
Chronos: Spirit Probe

Grotesquerie:
Haemonculus: Flesh Gaunt, Scissor Hand, Hexrifle
4 Grotesques, Raider
4 Grotesques, Raider (Succubus goes here)

Scalpel Squadron:
5 wracks, Ossefactor, Venom w/ twin cannons
5 wracks, Liquifier, Venom w/ twin cannons

Dark Eldar Allies
Succubus: Archite Glaive, Armour of Misery

4 Medusae, venom w/ twin cannons

(2x) 5 Kabalite Warriors, venom w/twin cannons

6 Reavers: 2 Cluster Caltrops
(2x) 5 Scourge 4 Haywire Blasters

1996 pts

Anyway, any input would be awesome guys...

I would drop the flesh gauntlets in the Haemocules. There is enough nasties already! I would try heatlances on the talos as they will wwp right in close anyway. Also, try the ichor injector, the 6+ instant death can be nice against paladins, wraithlords, dreasknights, riptides etc, if it gets to that point.

I think its a nice looking list, could be great fun! But drop the flesh gauntlets and use the points to get blasters on the warriors and stick two ossefactors on the scalpel. That ap 2 fleshbane is lovely while the liquidier is expensive and just not effective enough!

Okay, though I would note the ichor injector is basically a superior weapon for the Talos against almost every possible foe out there. It will already wound most things on a 2+ anyway, and the things it doesn't wound on 2+ it will be better to threaten ID than to just do a few more slap wounds.

I see less than no purpose for the hexrifle here. I would suggest taking the Sump - that way if the Grots roll Fleet, the Haem won't slow them, and it's also a nice generic combat boost to him in any other situation.

I usually oppose the Armor, but at least you are trying to game the Ld situation. I don't see value to the nades - anything the Grots can damage, they'll handle fine, anything the Grots can't damage you'll not want to assault or want to be able to 'our weapons are useless' from anyway.

Expensive, fragile, and in my opinion competing with the optimal Coven unit targets. Let the Grots, Wracks, and Talos deal with massed infantry - you should get more anti-vehicle tools to make sure people can't hide from you in metal boxes.

I think you're light on anti-mech, especially since a big percentage of your army is assault. I'd adjust that to make sure the vehicles are being dealt with so your mobs can maul any infantry.

I was thinking I could use the grots and talos to take care of my AV. My oppenents are limited to Tau, infantry guard, and space wolves, I don't see a lot of tanks other than the IG list, and the grots, talos, and 2 squads of HWB scourge should be fine...
