1400pts against Nurgle Daemons

Starting a new campaign at the local game store, and I have my first game against Nurgle.

Some things I know:
-I'll have about 200pts on him
-He will most likely be using a Soul Grinder
-Will not mix with other Daemon factions
-Has used named HQ's in the past

We will be rolling for mission randomly. Thoughts? Opinions?

Mandrakes are there because I had extra points and I like them. Dark Lances are there because the Soul Grinder scares me.

There are so many factors to consider....

1. Is he a smart guy?
2. Does he have a large and varied collection?
3. Does he also know you'll be playing DE?

If all of the answers to the above are "Yes", then I'd expect him to bring a horde of smaller models instead of the standard MC fare that is associated with daemons, supported by stuff with AV.

This is why I don't have any interest in playing where you know who your opponent is before you submit your list. List tailoring isn't fun. It's too easy to counter certain factions, especially with knowledge of what the other person owns, model-wise.

I agree. The campaign type gives us the points value, and faction they play. Army lists are free to vary per game. (I don't want ruthless lists, but I'm bringing guns to gun fights, and knifes to knife fights)

Turns out he was playing Crimson Fists with an allied detachment of Tempestus. I actually tabled him which was a surprise.
