Hobby update: tired of painting evil, green men so I'm working on my clowns. I want to paint them in a winter theme. Currently I'm thinking the scheme is lacking something. Might help with doing some gemwork on them.

This is a used model that i reprimed in white and painted anew. Was unlucky with my white primer and the model ended up a bit chalky. I already hate painting diamonds.

Had to redo the diamonds a few times too many on this one. Made the paintjob lumpy. So glad I got this troupe for free.

Ooh nice I like this scheme. The blue and the light sea green go really nicely together.

Thank you! I still feel that something is missing. I want to make the blue a shade lighter, and the masks in an other light shade of grey.

Hmmm, I must admit I'm probably not the guy to ask about that. I'm a sucker for a limited palette so I'm struggling to see what to change on them...

My fourth test clown. Trying out scrollwork on this one. Like scrollwork better than diamonds. Will do it a bit different on the next test clown. I want to make the scrolls more subtle with a gradual hilight build up. Note quite done with hilighting and the metalwork on this one, btw.

Edit: a layer of glaze made it better.

GW really should just make an 'upgrade' sprue for Crypt Horrors with a load of DEldar Grotesquey bits. Would be dirt cheap for them to implement, and it's been proven time and again to look fantastic

Agreed! I am personally a bit miffed about that they don't add enough tentacles in the talos/cronos kit. That would open up a world of possibilities for me.

Finished gluing my coven lot. Added two units of wracks, so I can run a scalpel squadron while I still can.

Quite satisfied with this one. I think I'll name him Spiderbob.

After a little hiatus with moving and stuff, I am finally back in action! Currently working on the yncarne. Fun model to paint and a true bastard to glue.
