Venom in close combat

If a venom is in close combat is the str of the attack 4 since it is using its bladevanes, even though the str of the venom is 5?

Sadly, yes. The same goes for Raiders and Ravagers too.

Yeah that does stink. Just wanted to make sure I played it right. At least you can make 1 attack with the higher str with the raider/ravager if you take the shock prow.

Interestingly, Starweavers aren't bound by the same restriction.
Add it to the list I suppose.

Huh? I wouldn't trade +1S for that AP-1 we have! And Shock Prows are great.

Just make Bladevanes S User. Vehicles would be more effective, although Reavers would suffer unless they got the +1S drug.

But S user at the Reavers would be the same as using S of the pilot of the Venom... Its the bike that hits, not the user. I'd let the bladevanes S4, get more attacks the bigger squad is being targetted and D2. Rider of a bike should not attack himself IMO.
