Subject: First attempt at a crusade list, help would be amazing! Tue Jun 01 2021, 18:37
Hi everyone, new to the forum! I've been picking up Drukhari again and just got the codex last week. Been trying to figure out a decent list to build towards. Definitely want a Kabal component and I think wytch cult also, maybe haemonculi later on so I can have a real space raid for bigger non cruasade games. Anyway please let me know what you think or if I've missed a trick! Thanks in advance.

I admit, I never played Crusade. Its a campaign, right? So, no Master upgrades at the beginning?
For your list: I dont see the need for the haywireblasters. Standard blaster should be a better option. And when your Solarite needs a powerweapon, well, then something went wrong. The chainsnares on the Transports? I would use the points somewhere else. Last thing: maybe one other wychweapon? Hydragauntlets?

Thanks for the feedback first off! Yes I believe getting the master archon is an upgrade you can get when they are more experienced.
Ah well, I wanted some sort of anti vehicle shenanigans, later realised with poisoned tongue I can just use metallotoxins in a pinch anyway.. Also I read haywires were good in terms of flexibility once youve run out of vehivles to shoot (if they last that long I guess) . So now I've 4 haywire blasters because I've an itchy online ordering finger I guess!
Yeah probably not the most lean points list I'll readily admit, since crusade is power based anyway I wasnt thinking on it overmuch. I think I like them on the venom with the archon and incubi, but probably can drop on the raider now you mention it.
Ah you know, I think I overlooked that I could take another wytch weapon or mixed it up with how they previously could take them. Re reading their entry now!

Blasters and/or Heatlances do great dmg on vehicles... And on everything else. Personally, I think them the better choice. Heatlances are best used with Reavers. Since they're not Infantry, they ignore the heavy +1 penalty for moving. With Splintermind they hit on 2+.

That's fair, guess I could cut my losses with a cheap and cheerful shredders or shardcarbines on the scourges. On my 2k regular play list I do plan to have 9-12 reavers packing heat lances

9 is a good choice. I prefer 2x6, but everybody can do as he pleases.

I may end up getting another pack to get to 12 if I in fact have only 9, 2 x 6 seems more flexible for sure. Hellions I'm not sure if I want 10 or 15, just depends on my ability to hide them from unfriendly weapons fire hahaha
Ah by that I only meant that I've already ordered extra haywire blasters for the scourges, but if they're more meh than I realised I'll just equip with them with something else and leave the haywire blasters in my bits drawer hahah, sorry that was unclear!

It might be time to get some even smaller magents then hahaha (I used some for Titanicus).
Well, you can get them off people who break down boxes to sell the bits, to be honest I'd nearly just buy extra scourges next time. Though they werent *toooo* pricy

ah if only I had your willpower... I say that, I'm actially doing ok, pile of shame reduced to a very small shelf probably only 20 models unpainted. Quarantine certainly helped with that!

I would second the call for Blasters on your Scourges. They are more "all purpose" than the HWB, plus are Assault so you can move/advance and still shoot. Just dont forget about your Never Stationary strat to move after they shoot. Those guys are DEAD if the enemy can draw LOS.
If you are playing Power Level, and your opoents are OK, I would recomend the Phantasm Grenade Launcher on your Sgt's. Those things can do suprising damage when they work.
Chain snares are not the worst idea. I had a lot of fun running them when the codex first released. Now I am using PGL and the Grisly Trophies, but that may change now that DT Wracks are no longer on the menu

Yeah as its power I went a bit mad with upgrades but , for sure I'm now also thinking about a 2k list to build up to where I'll have to spend points wisely! Thanks for the feedback fisheyes! I should probably weigh the assault characteristic more heavily than the extra 2 damage from heat lances.
Still not clear if I can do a fire and fade after a reinforcement but seems probably not? Maybe missed it in faq.
Oh definitely. I'll go back and add the phantasm to sergeants as well. Will have one modeled on my archon though its sadly legend's now.
I really like the idea of Grisly Trophies helping phantasm launchers as well as incubi tormentors. Made up a new list or two today based on this so may post later when I've tweaked it!

Updated with new power rating of raiders taken into account. Ended up swapping out the hellions for reavers as it fit better. Will add the hellions in again when the force grows.
Also half thinking to switch to black heart rules as that re roll will probably do more for me than the boost to poison weapons.
