Starting 500 pts list against Necrons and Space Marines

Hi all,

My friends and I are coming back (or getting into) 40k after a very long hiatus and we are starting slow to give people time to build and paint their armies. The two confirmed opponents will be Necrons and (possibly generic) Space Marines.

This is the first list I came up with:

I don't really have restrictions on models as I know I'll most likely be buying most of the roster eventually. Any suggestions will be very greatly appreciated!

I dont see the point in giving your trueborn Sybarite an Agonizer. When he has to use it, something went really wrong.
Here is my approach: 10 trueborn with Blasters and Dark Lance, keep the Incubi, but only one Raider and one Venom.

Thanks! Would it make sense to try to fit more Incubi and take only 5 trueborn?

With only 500pts?

We still have to build up the armies and get familiar with the rules. Pretty sure we won't play more than 2-3 games at these points.

Well, if you want to grow your army, I would say you cant have enough troops and transports.
Sure, it sounds a bit boring, but those are the basics. And our troops are pretty strong for their points.
Especially in our transports. So, when you can get your hands on a cheap combat patrol box and/or Start Collecting...

2 Patrols, 1 additional incubi, 1 venom and another Raider, I believe.

That gives you 2 Archons, 20 Kabalites, 15 Incubi, 3 Raider, 2 Ravager and a Venom.
Thats quite a punch. Do you want to add Cult and/or Coven too?

Definitely. I had a 10k+ Dark Elves army back in the Fantasy days and I just loved Witch Elves, so one or two Succubis and ~20 Wyches are top of my list for next purchases.

Helions look quite cool as a harasser/hammer and I was wondering about a Talos/Cronos too.
