| Well seeing as I am sticking around and finding motivation to paint with these challenges I thought I should keep a record of my work. Not only for you as the reader but for more motivation for me to keep painting. Hope to keep posts up often and to receive feed back and comments just as often! To get the ball rolling: A WIP Shot of a Scourge I'm busy painting. Bottom half is more or less finished. Top half still needs work on the wings and haywire blaster. Any thoughts on a good wing color that will compliment the current scheme? (Dark purple main with red off color)      Enjoy | |

| Purple with DE is a classic for a reason, they're looking good!
I'd be tempted to leave the majority of the wing black, but maybe think about putting veins on them in red.

| Really like what you've got going here! The purple looks great(I am biased, of course) You might try keeping the wings black, but add Kommando Khaki to the black in blended stages. It looks good, and gives you a nice black without looking cold and sterile(as when using Codex or Shadow grey). | Looking good, i particularly like the grading of the wings from black to purple, haven't broken out the paints on my scourges yet but I'm being somewhat inspired by some of the scheme you've got going here.

| Those are really spiffy and distinctive Scourges. Your purple is extremely well done, and forms a great contrast with the orange glowy bits. Great job!

| Your Scourges look stunning! Beautifully painted with excellent contrasting colours to give a very eye-catching effect. Very nicely done.
I can't help but think that if the inner feathers on the wings had some brown highlighting, they would pop even more, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with the way that they are.

Ya, I agree that I could have probably done more with the wings. I kept the black as it is supposed to phase into my purple and the brown just doesn't have any other spot in my army. I think the photos don't show the full effect of the grey highlighting that is on the wings but oh well. I am no professional photographer :p -Next projects include magnetizing and painting my ravager. -Finish my remaining scourges.  By foeofnight at 2012-06-18 | |
