In the Infinite City rogues and the betrayed dwell bitterly on their past. Thieves and assassins wait for the day when they can claim the lives of those whom scorned them. Once great lords have been flung from their high spires and now trudge through the blood and dust of the gutter-spawned.

In Commorragh nobody cares for your pleads of mercy.

In the black realm of Sal’tillavaan, Protectorate of T’llionoch and the noble Cavash Dynasty, the fallen gather. This realm forged in violence and contempt is a haven for those that seek to escape the blades of their masters.
In the Dark City nobody is ever safe, however…

In a Pleasure House rising high above the Forest of Shaimesh a message has been circulating, passed from mouth to ear a thousand times until it reaches those who seek salvation… or escape. Whether it is greed, vengeance, freedom, refuge, wealth or unrestricted power that you seek come to the Voracious Varanid Drug House at dawn. Lord Dracon Dsyarriv Jaillvór Saravan shall reward all those brave enough to carry out his will.

Be prepared to delve out into the darkest reaches of space, encounter all manner of alien monstrosities, reach into the core of Commorragh and face other far more deadly threats besides.

This RP accepts any Eldar from any walk of life, whether you are Dark Eldar, Craftworlder or Corsair. Please note, however, I will not be accepting Eldar that have made famous names for themselves, so no Haemonculi, Archons, Autarchs, Farseers or Corsair Princes.

Vengeance Resplendent will be an RP for between four and six people. I’ll be encouraging you to cooperate to achieve the same goal, but we all know that the nature of Eldar (especially of the Dark variety) is whimsical indeed.

Rules:
There are a few rules that I’d like the players to stick to. They’re nothing unreasonable, just some basic guidelines to help things flow.

1. I’ll be expected players to be able to make one post a week. This doesn’t seem too unreasonable as it gives you plenty of time to think your post through, discuss the situation with other players in to OOC (Out Of Character) thread and write up your post. If you’re going to have trouble posting for any reason then please post in the OOC thread or PM me.
2. There will be things that your character can do easily without having t consult me. Things like taking a sip from a glass and other simple actions don’t require my clearance. Shooting at enemies or other players (if you’re feeling so inclined) is fine, too, but please leave the results of such actions to me. You can control your player and their actions, but not the outcome.
3. The main aim of this game is to have fun. I’ll try and make this as fun as possible with as much background as I can include. I’ll also try and make it so that detail also lies in the right places for novices and those that are new to the DE. I encourage anybody to join!
4. I am happy for people to claim a place in the RP before posting their character, but if the character is not posted in time then the place shall go to the next person in line.

To get a feel for your character, and so I know more about them, please fill out these details:

Origin: X'leith has spent three centuries honing his skills for battle. The quest battle has all but consumed him. It is what he lives for. There is not a time he can remember when he did not feel this way.

Personality: Stoic and of few words. He lets his klaive speak for him

Appearance: Tall and well built. His head is shaved and his body covered in scars. Each a reminder of foes he has slain.

Other: He is not one for fast talk. He would just assume lop off your head as listen to someone talking in circles.

Origin: Zaonath was born on the Craftworld of Ulthwé, daughter of two famous bowl-designers. She was raised for the path of the artist, but she gave it up and turned away from her parents wishes, and strove to be an Aspect Warrior. After a brief experience as a Dark Reaper, she turned away from the path and went on the path of the Seer, and became a moderately-skilled warlock. But soon she escaped from the restrictive life of Ulthwé. Why did she do so, she tells only to a few.

Personality: Curious and quick. One who does decisions based on whim.

Appearance: Curled, short dark blue hair, sharp nose, thin cheekbones. Brown eyes.

Other: Constantly chewing small objects if bored.

Character name: Keshariel Ilestrion, the Severer

Age: 325

Equipment: Ghostplate Armour in corvid-iridescent black with the edges carefully enamelled in jade green extracted from the wing cases of a beetle that lived on only on continent of a planet now blasted into rock. There was an incident involving its core and a nuclear reactor meltdown, a plan he was instrumental in creating, though he nearly missed the final assault because he was busy collecting enough beetles. A Shard Carbine and Splinter Pistol, both standard issue. Some daggers, lightweight and very sharp, suitable for throwing. Three plasma grenades, each bearing a poem to the Consort of the Void, and a small portrait of her in exquisite, not to say explicit detail. Lastly some monofilament wire hidden in a sash around his waist or coiled up in a small pouch (with some elegant spidersilk gloves to handle the device without losing fingers). Personal effects.

Origin: Born into the Wych Cult Aria of Destruction, the Trueborn son of one of the more minor Wyches quickly found he was not destined to be a great power in the Cult. In keeping with the Dark Eldar creed of striving for perfection in all things in which one desires to excel, Keshariel tried for two hundred or so years to make his way to the top …

… only to find that he was blocked from its higher echelons by virtue of having been born a male.

Though there was certainly a place for a male of his strength, stamina and good looks, Keshariel found that his presence in the arena was regarded as a novelty at best. Opportunities to show how good he had become with a blade, monowire noose or elegantly-placed kill shot were somehow always sidelined in favour of one of the aspiring daughters of the Kabal. Invitations to audiences with any of the Hekatrices always had more to do with pleasure than business. He felt tired of being treated more like a nameless pleasure slave than one of the Eldarith Ynneas, and found the future prospect of being seen (in his view) as good breeding stock demeaning. In short it was a frustrating life for someone of Keshariel’s drive and ambition, and he decided that the only way to gain any kind of status other than that of a favoured concubine was to strike out and find somewhere where he could make a scar of his own upon the Dark City.

Personality: Keshariel is a risk-taker. Although he is capable of executing a meticulous plan, carried out in many steps, he is always having to balance his desire for such surety with the thrill-seeking side of his nature, which still takes over on occasion. As an aspirant Wych, this gave him a flashy but superficial edge, and the accurate judgement of many of his teachers was that he has potential but will never be a political force on his own. Keshariel isn’t stupid, but he sometimes fails to concentrate for long enough to be a true player in Commorragh’s games.

What he is good at is innovation. He will often be the first to suggest something unorthodox or risky, but he has always calculated the odds. Well, almost always. Sometimes something looks like just too much of a buzz not to try.

In common with this, Keshariel is finely attuned to the sorts of varied pleasures being a Dark Eldar can offer, the hedonistic impulses that need to be kept to certain times and places or risk unfortunate consequences. What holds him in check are two things: firstly fear of failure – he refuses to entertain the idea of falling so far as not being at least in a good Kabal, if not something more prestigious. He is Trueborn. How can he be expected to live like one of the common rabble? Of course, he also wants to prove to certain of his Wych Cult just how wrong they were to dismiss him. Secondly, he is very aware of the strength and ability of those currently ranked above him and tries to keep a good idea of who pulls the strings and who is merely manipulated. Or, this being the Dark City, which is doing how much of each to whom.

His skill at attention to detail means that Keshariel is quite a good artist, but he is really too lazy to apply himself to this creative pursuit. He tends to indulge himself in his time off, his recreational drugs of choice being hallucinogens. So far he’s been quite good at judging what is truly time off. So far.

Keshariel is fairly good at working as part of a team (so far as any Dark Eldar is) because that’s how he was taught in the Wych Cult – in a small class, often with group challenges to face such as how to take down a much larger opponent.
Keshariel is left-handed and his favourite colour is blue. He doesn’t believe in luck, as far as he is concerned he wins because he is better. (!)

Appearance: Keshariel shows his origins in the arena: he is a classic Wych beauty, with large, dark purple eyes, a proud set to his slightly aquiline features, and a sensual mouth. He has long straight hair, usually black or dark green; he has taken great pains and spent no little currency on making sure his flawless white skin stays that way. It has a few small scars, but these are all in the process of being dealt with (it takes time to collect the sort of payments Haemonculi need for delicate work). He is tall, with long legs usually shod in high boots and almost always wears gloves to protect his elegant hands, “the hands of an artist”, as he likes to say, often while uncoiling his trademark garrotte from some unfortunate’s neck.

Other: Keshariel is quite good at coming up with ideas, though not always of the most orthodox kind. He is stealthy on his feet and quick, making good use of the monowire garrotte in ambush, most of all a close combat specialist from his time in the arenas, though he is a passable shot with the Shard Carbine as well. He enjoys the contrast between the subtlety of the noose and the anything but subtlety of massive firepower.

Keshariel hasn’t left the arena as such; he’s taken a sabbatical, as creatures as easily bored as Dark Eldar often do, looking for something a bit more substantial and exciting to do – he plans one day to make a spectacular comeback. That, he believes, should silence a few detractors.

Skills: Major Skill: Close combat. Minor Skills: Seduction, Ranged Weapons (for the Shard Carbine).

Keshariel would work very nicely! It's good to have some Dark flavour in here now!

A tree hugging Exodite would be more than welcome if there was a reason for it to leave its previous life! It could be cool to have an Exodite, actually... are you interested, Thor?

Character name: Sarele Illhiryx (Male)

Age: 55

Equipment: Ghostplate armor, blaster, plasma grenades, razor sharp talons (his feet) and razor sharp metal teeth

Origin: Sarele was a successful Solarite in the past. Having survived many daring and suicidal gambles in many raids, Sarele has gotten a reputation for being a hardcore survivor, always finding a way out of Slaanesh's grasp. Many times have his squad of Scourges swooped down behind enemy lines and destroy enemy armor just to get fired upon by enemy infantry. All those time, Sarele have always made it out alive, either alone or with just a few others. This has also lead to the growth of Sarele's other reputation, for being a bad omen. Sarele's cabal had enough of all the casualties he brought and decided to punish and kill Sarele. They did this by cutting off Sarele's wings, and push him of the spire of their kabal's home. Somehow Sarele survived and now he is here.

Personality: Lonewolf, careful, patient and sadistic

Appearance: Scarred face, grey and black feathers instead of hair, razor sharp teeth , total black eyes, pale skin, taller than most DE, sleek and thin, talons as feet and long slender fingers with sharp nails. The feather hair is raised upwards. His ghostplate armour is decorated with feathers on the back, covering his cut wings stumps and formed as wings.

Other: - Dark and scrappy voice, usually start with eagle sounds before speaking. Like clicking and screaming.

Character name: Ryi'le

Age: 143 in Commorragh Time

Equipment: Shrieker Cannon, Holo Suit, Flip Belt, Harlequin's Kiss

Origin: Death is everyone companion. To the Craftworlders its safe in their craftworld's Infinity Circuit. To the Dark Eldar it is hopefully in the coffin of their prefered Haemonculus. To the Harlequins though, it is the Death Jester. Ryi'le is one of his Masque's few Death Jesters, and is by far one of the most experienced. He supplies his Masque with the character of Death in their plays and on the battlefield. With heavy weapon in hand and a grace that defies the heft of his weapon, Ryi'le reaps the Masque's adversaries. He is the master of many weapons, the missile launcher, the bright lance, and even the shorter range fire pike. His prefered weapon though is his Buanna, or Shrieker cannon. Death not only deals from afar, but sometimes the deed must be done up close and personal. When needed he wields both the Shrieker Cannon in one hand and his Kiss in the other, cutting down enemies like a scythe through wheat.

Personality: As dry and morbid as most Death Jesters are, Ryi'le always looks on the darker side of things. To him, Death is a constant companion. He is also quick to anger, and will always rather settle things with his Shrieker or Kiss instead of using words. He always follows the High Avatar without question, although he might grumble about it and put in a quick retort or two before trudging off.

Appearance: Death is an imposing force, and Ryi'le is no different. Tall and with a broad chest, the Margorach looks like he would have no trouble wielding his weapons even without the grav-stabilisers. His long, black trencoat fits losely over his carapace armor. Random trinkets, charms, and bones decorate his relatively plain color palette of whites and blacks. An outline of a raven adorns his carapace armor instead of the traditional skeleton motif. Ryi'le also has a fondness for his time before he walked down the Path of Death, and still keeps his original Agaith on his hip. He can still use its field to convey emotions if he wishes.

Other: He is currently traveling alone. But it is known far and wide where there is one Harlequin, more are definately watching...
