1850 pts vs Necrons.

I played my first game with the next codex yesterday against Necrons.

My list:
Haemonculus with scissorhand, armor of mysery and WWP

Mission : Emperor’s will
Deployment : Dawn of war

He deployed first with foot warriors on his objective, his bike in a corner, his 3 barges as close as me as he could with the ark behind it. Farther on my left, he deployed the other warriors with the DLord and Wraith behind them.

I deployed my bastion with mandrakes inside in the middle of my zone, near a LOS piece of terrain. I deployed the scourges out of LOS around those piece of terrain, my mandrakes inside the bastion, a squad of reavers in the corner way out of range of his destroyer. The two venoms where in front of his wraith, near my table edge. Everything else was reserved.

Necron T1 :
His bikes move flatout on my right flank. Everything else, save for his warriors on his objective move forward. His barges kill 2 Scourges. He shot my bastion and the telse ark struck my scourges (I forgot about this). His destroyed shot the bastion, doing nothing.

DE T1:
My reavers move into a ruin, near my own objective. The venoms position themselves to shoot the wraith. The Scourges move into position to shoot his barges. The venoms kill a wraith. After jinx, my 3 Scourges squad scored a pen (shaked) on a barge. The mandrake fire an heavy bolter at this bargem doing nothing.

Necron T2
Both flyers arrive. His bikes move flatout and are now on my table edge near my bastion. The barge wipe a squad of Scourges. The destroyer wiffed on the bastion again. A flyer wrecks a venom and the telsa arks and wrecks the second venom. The second flyer kill a reaver.

DE T2 :
Reserve arrived (thanks God for comm relay, I rolled 3 “2” on 4 dices.
First warrior raider DS near the Wraith and scatter out of rapid fire range. The other one move from my table edge near his bikes. The court DS without scatter near his objective. The reaver arriving from reserve flatout near a ruin, in position for a 3rd turn assault on his vehicles. The other squad jump shoot jump firing at his warriors (killing two by they get back up). My flyer shoot everything at his wraith, killing 1. The DSing raider kill another wraith. My Scourges shoots at one of the intact barge, doing nothing after jinx. The other one shoot at the damaged barge, doing one glance. The court flame the warriors to death. My foot warriors (who disembarked from the wrecked venoms moved into a ruin on my objective). My other warriors in raider wipe the bikes off the table. Mandrakes wiff on the damaged barge.

Necron T3
His DLord split from his wraith and move towards the nearest raider. His wraiths go after the court’s raider. His NS with Deathmarks leaves the table. The other one move and shoot at the Scourge wiping a second squad. His barges and ark shoot my court’s raider, doing 1 glance, at the reavers, killing 2. His foot warriors shoot at my warriors killing 1. His wraith miss their charge on the Court’s raider and the DLord explodes the warriors’ raider killing 4.

DE T3
Reavers on the left move in front of his foot warriors. The other squad move into the middle of his vehicles. The warrior raider that killed the bike move forwards. The Court’s raider move within 18 inches of the wraith. My flyer goes after a barge. The remaining Scourge squad shoot at a barge, scoring 1 glance after jinx. The flyer shoots at the damaged (no shield) barge, doing nothing. The reavers (left) shoot at the warriors, killing 2. The disembarked warriors score a wound on the DLord. The warriors’ raider kill the heavy destroyer. The court and its raider shoot at the wraiths. At this point he has 3 left with 1 wound each. Mandrakes wiff on the damaged barge. Reavers assault the warriors, wiping them. The other reavers assault the Ark and score 2 glances My warriors assault his DLord doing nothing but losing 1 and helding!.

Necron T4
His NS (immortal) leaves the table, the other one comes back and drop his deathmarks in front of my Court’s raider. He shoots almost everything on the Court’s raider wrecking it. One on his barge scores a glance on my other raider. His DM and despairtek shoot my court, killing everything by a medusa and the haemonculus who took 1 wound. He also shot my flyer forcing me to jinx. I also lost a couple of bikes to the Ark.

DE T4
My warriors in raider move up and shoot his DM killing a couple. The medusa flames them killing more. The Scourge finally wrecks the barge with 2 HP left. Mandrakes wiffes on the barge without shield). The 2 reavers squad assault the ark (I still had 3 caltrop and 5 bikes) scoring a single glance. The court assault the DM! The medusa dies to overwatch. The Haemonculus challenge his lord and kills it! They fail their leadership test (thanks armor of misery) and I catch them. My warriors survive another round against the Dlord.

Necron T5
His NS comes back and drop immortal in front of my objective. That’s pretty much it. His barges wreck my remaining raider and wiff on my scourges. His wraith assault my largest reavers squad wiping it. One NS leaves the table. His immortal and NS wipe a squad on warrior on my objective. His DLord finishes my warriors in assault and move towards my objective.

DE T5
Razorwing comes back, shoots his immortal killing4 (3 will come back). My warriors on my objective shoot into the immortal doing nothing. My haemonculus move in my warrior squad (that got their raider wrecked last turn) and sit on his objective. Scourge shoots a barge and does nothing after jinx. The lone reaver with caltrop assault the ark, doing nothing.

We roll for the end of the game : 1! DE victory.

Analysis :
I won for 2 reasons : first, my opponents made a lot of mistakes. He went for objective on turn 5. He could have dropped his immortal on turn 2, I had no AI left near my objective beside 8 warriors on foot. If he had another turn, his DLord would have claimed my objective by murdering my warriors and his shooting would have blown me off his.

Scourges, while looking good on paper, are not that effective with you factor cover in. Reavers are useless against tanks in squad of 6. I’m gonna have to try larger squad with more then 2 caltrops. The court performed really well, especially since I got robbed of my T5 by his DM. I have not been impressed my heavy reserve. The scatter of my warriors out of rapid fire range nearly cost me the game. Also paying a 95 tax to ensure that reserves arrive may be too much for the benefit of DSing raiders.

It appears you were running a single realspace raider detachment.  FYI it does not have a fortification slot.  Gotta take a CAD to get one, so perhaps one more reason to drop it from the list?

Doh, I didn't realize that. I'm getting really confused with the detachment / formation mechanics.
You're right but then the list would have been even worst. A single kabalite raider would have come down on turn 2.
