1850 Friendly List. First games.

This is a list I wrote up really fast. I currently have the Covens book coming in the mail. For this list I'm just using a standard CAD and trying to cram different things into the list that I want to try.

I've always really wanted to field Talos, and recently purchased two and have another one on the way with my Covens book that I'm going to turn into a Cronos. I figured I'd keep the scourges, razorwing, and Wracks off the board and DS the infantry in the backfield for some shenanigans. The Razorwing can come in where I need it. I regret not getting any bikes into the list, do you guys think I would have success subbing something for them? Again, this is kind of a "try a bunch of different stuff" kind of list, not super competitive.

The Archon would go with the Grots. I do really want to try a Grot bomb, but I only have four Grot models right now. I was going to order some more the other day, but GW was sold out on their US store >.>

I'd deploy the Talos probably near the center of my line and try to deny area, move towards any objectives in the center.

I'll probably be playing a game against Orks and Plague Marines. I try to refrain from writing different lists for two different opponents.

P.S. I know Wracks usually under-perform, but I haven't used them in a long time and I kind of want to DS three liq guns lol.

Not sure why you would take a CAD as opposed to the Realspace Raiders? Is Objective Secured really going to help you that much? Even if you don't use the extra FA slots, surely Hunt From The Shadows will help you more? You still get the re-roll Warlord Trait Command Trait, so you can really go for that Byzantine Cunning.

Hunt from the shadows is a one, maybe two time boost (and not a major one).

Obsec on the other hand wins games and is in effect as long as you have troops on the field. The bonus FA is the only reason I'd ever take it.

I would fit Ossefactor on the wracks, as it has a bigger range, it allows for objective sitting that much better. I would throw in a Hexrifle just for the laughs.

I took out a Necron Overlord on Command barge with a Liquifier today. Did you know that the 'No Escape' rule applies to them too? Hahahaha!

I pretty much shot my plague marine friend to death. I was able to WWP in and use the AoP and Armor of Misery combo well against his three demon units. The rest didn't care, obviously.

The Scourges did well. First turn of shooting I moved them from behind cover and did 3 HP worth of damage to a land raider, and then killing it later.

The bikers where as annoying as I'd hope they'd be. One unit wiffed fighting a rhino twice, but the other was able to charge a fly unit and do some damage with it's CC and hit and run out, finish off a weakened Deamon unit after hitting it with the relic combo and then moving onto my opponents objective into his DZ.

The Talos I think could have done better, but they got drawn into a combat with is big Mech Dog thing and immobilized it, and then died. So at least it couldn't move.

All in all, a lot of fun. Can't wait for my Covens Supplement to come in the mail. It was a fun game, I realize Plague Marines probably have a lot of trouble fighting DE as we negate a lot of their toughness, but it was a good one none-the-less.

Edit-- For the record, I took the real space raiders detachment just to try it out. Also rolled on the DE warlord trait table, getting "rage"... whooo >.>;;

So what trait did you roll first? You know you can RR it, right?

Pretty sure I rolled the one that gives him fear? I don't have my codex with me.

Not super useful vs. Plague Marines.
