My opponent rolls with Flamers in his vets which I will look to kill off, three scouting rhinos, that white scar chapter master dude in a unit of bikes packed with melta toting attack bikes and a couple of assault troop units.

Made with battle scribe of course.

Plan was to start with the two venoms (troops) and Talos on the table turn 1. Use the venoms speed to stay way out of trouble while the talos tanks it (probably dying in the process) turn 2 and my reserves hit their rear. He will leave his rear guarded by a single dreadnought.

The blasters deal with the dread, haywire scourges slow the rhinos with help from the flyers while the Incubi come down in cover with intention to assault turn 3/4.

What do you think? I know the natural change is to get rid of the wyches but I think they're assault grenades may be useful when assaulting marines in wrecked transports or counter attacking his assault squads.

I think you need to remove all point costs on each item/special rules etc to stop the forums getting into trouble with GW first!

Bike lists though, you just don't want combat with them. Trust me, my friend runs Ravenwing with flamers/meltas etc and you don't want to try and take them in CC. Talos yes, but other than that get your splinter rifles and dissies out. Overwhelming dakka gets them eventually. Force them to jink (they get 3+ I think with skilled rider?) so there shooting is minimum, and keep backing away from them. Venoms and gunboats are the beat solution. It negates his advantage of toughness 5 whilst close combat does not!

My suggestion is to start with everything on the board. Also you need as many troops as possible. I run against a pure bike white scar list. The guy that runs it doesn't have the best tactical mind but with one of the best lists in the game he doesn't need to be. Troops get a 4+ cover save if it is night fighting (if you're using our detachment) so anything that does hurt you, you get a save against. Line up at the back of your deployment zone and make him come at you. Prioritize your targets and don't leave 1-2 man squads. Poison everything possible and try not to get into combat with them unless you can wipe the squad.

Agree to the above although detachment save doesn't stack with stealth I believe so it's 5+ (not a cover save) and won't stack with cover either...sadly...

You don't have eldar allies I realize, but one of the most potent units vs bikes are Dark Reapers. Just one five man in a venom or raider will really devastate bikes. That's ten S5 Ap3 ignores jink shots per turn with a 48 inch reach. You will execute a five man bike unit per turn.

Plus you can get an autarch for reserves and stay out of CC.
