So this Saturday I have a very small round robin tourney with a group of friends. Here's the thing: I have a VERY limited selection of models to choose from (with minor proxying), being a relative newbie to DE, and VERY bad luck with rolls that matter.
That, and the fact that the other three players are Cheesey Tau, T1 deepstriking Grey Knights, and Suits & Tanks Tau again...
SO here's my main battleplan, gonna be tricky against Grey Knights, but when is that ever gonna be different.I stand no chance in a shootout against either Tau, so I'll need to do some sneaky shenanigans. I also have limited vehicles, so gotta make do with what I got:
2002 points (my group is very lax about +/- 5 points)
CAD:
HQ:
Archon (in bomb raider)
blaster, PGL, WWP, Armour of Misery.

Heavy weapon (splinter cannon), Sybarite (PGL), Raider (DC, SR, TGL)
10x Warriors

Fast Attack:

Formations:
Scalpel squadron:
2x wracks (ossefactor)
2x Venom (extra splinter cannon)
Scalpel squadron:
2x wracks (ossefactor)
2x Venom (extra splinter cannon)
Obviously not optimized, but offers some deepstriking shenanigans, with a big bomb to tau EVERYWHERE by the end of T2. Strategy is to start with nothing on the field (or reavers in corners out of LoS if I'm feeling stupid), Scalpel Squads come in bottom of T1, trying to snag D3 first blood, and applying -2 Ld debuffs where possible. whole formations get mulched top of T2 most likely, but assuming some survive my bomb arrives wherever needed and drops in the -6 Ld archangel tests in the middle of big deadly things, follow up with more phantasm and poison shots to make everything run (testing morale at -4 Ld max), and hopefully skirtiong my trueborn and reavers to take care of any armor values present. Reavers can assault to tie up assault squads/grab objectives, and the voidraven is for any chance at T2 AA/bombing.
I have no more money to pour into the game at the moment and that's all I can put in minus 4 incubi I've got on the side. I love the idea of the null deployment/beta strike bomb, especially against my nemesis Tau/crons player (aka roommate).
How do you think this will stack up? should I keep the ossefactors or swap out for liquifiers? and how will it match up against Nemesis Strike Force Grey Knights?
