Highlander tournament BA

Higlander format 0-1 of each. Everything is unique with few exceptions.

Here is what I thought of taking:

Mephiston

Furioso (blood claws)

10 Assault squad, pf, 2mg 235
6 Death Comppany, pf, pa, Godhammer 430
5 Tacticals, mg Assback 180

Baal hb 145

Predator, lc 135

1500pts

Not very competetive, but I like to field my many unused models for a change.

Any comments or small improvements?

Furioso should have a pod. Would rather see a stormraven than a godhammer.

True about furioso in a pod. Where to get points? Smaller DC? Should Furioso be DC dread?

I had Storm Raven in the first list edition, but took it away to get more table precense early game.

DC dread in a pod also gives you ObjSec on the pod, even though the Dread is non-scoring.

The DC dread scores too. It does not have the Black Rage rule. Only normal Rage

Oops. My bad. Been a while since I used one.

Same here. That's why I want to use one now.

If I drop the power axe DC that would let me have a pod for the Dread.

How did I do?

Game 1 (SW/AM)
Mephiston hid the whole game from Thunderwolf Cavalry (with three stormshields) with AM priest for reroll saves in cc. DC dread and Baal pred distracted enemy very well. Other pred and Godhammer immoed themselves early game. Special rules allowed my DC to score. And score they did. could leave my deployment zone cos I got three ties in a row that objective maelstrom card.

Game 2 (Raven Guard)
Vanguard veterans with Shrike, librarian and lots of gear rolled me with invisibility. Even mephiston was no match for them with iron arm and endurance. Mission special rules made my dc-dread and his pod treat each other as come the apocalyps allies and he refused to enter the pod in deployment.

Game 3 (GK/AM)
10 terminators showed up and died with captain. Librarian helped a bit but perilsed too many times and the sqaud lost invisibility. Draigo kept his Emperors will objective clear while my land raider stood on top of mine.

25/60 points and 11 position out of 20 players. I had fun but the list was bad. It didn't shoot enough nor had it real cc power. Competitive highlander might be fun format too, but that would require other list than this.

That sounds, erm, busted? Was it a really random idea the TO came up with then?

In every mission we had 3 points for special actions. I used mine in every game to make dc scoring and score some extra points. In second mission it was possible to make 2 units from enemy treat each other as CtA allies during deployment. I could have made the same for Shrike and his librarian.
