| Hello all, In my local gaming group, we play a very strict version of Highlander: All units except troops are 0-1, no superheavies, no allies, no formations. I'm far from new to 40k, but I am new to Dark Eldar and I'm desperately scrambling to figure out what I need to buy. I'm not worried about hammering out an exact list, I'm just trying to build a core of solid units to build my lists around. Here's what I'm working with so far:
Succubus w/ Webway Portal joined to 5'ish Grotesques - ~300pts
Archon (shooty) w/ Webway Portal joined to a court of 6 Sslyth - ~300pts
3-5 Mandrakes ~50pts
10x Kabalite Warriors in a Raider with splinter racks - 165pts
5x Kabalite Warriors in a Venom - 120pts
Razorwing w/ Dark Lances - 140pts
6x Reavers with 2x Caltrops - 126pts
Haywire Scourges - 120pts
Ravager w/ 3x Dark Lances - 140pts
2x Talos - 240pts
My 1k point list would look something like: -Succubus w/ 5 Grots -3 Mandrakes -Raider Kabalites -Venom Kabalites -6x Reavers -Scourges -Ravager
Then for 1250 I'd throw in the Razorwing and a Talos For 1500 I'm 100pts or so over if I try to use everything, so I'd have to drop a unit. Maybe I would only use one of the HQ choices, in which case I'd need to add something else. But what? A beastmaster with 9 Khymera? 10 Beastmasters? try to fit a Voidraven?
I'd love to get some feedback on the units you would add to my lineup if you were playing in Highlander. A beastmaster with 9 Khymera? 10 Beastmasters? Voidraven?
I'd love to hear what you would use if you were to play in my local group. Thanks for the help.

| Personally, I'd avoid khymera, beast masters, and the void raven. Instead I would invest into more Venoms, maybe another ravager and another razorwing | |

| That looks a lot like my Highlander list for a Tourney I'm going to be going to soon.
I can post in that afterwards and let you know how well it did. I personally don't think Highlander treats us well, but it might be fun.
Some members have put some helpful comments in my "Highlander Tactics" thread in the DE Tactics section, as well as a bit in my "1850 Highlander List" in the Army List section.

| Does forgeworld models are allowed? Because, I think the tantalus is not a superheavy. That would give you another precious transport. | |

| Tantalus, huh? I've never thought to look into Forgeworld to be honest. We don't have any specific rules against Forgeworld so I can get away with it so long as it isn't crazy OP or anything. Another transport in my list would be a huge help.
Razkien, I looked at your list and they are pretty similar. I'll keep my eyes peeled for a battle report from you. Thanks for the help.

Isn't the venom as an upgrade considered "troops" ruleswise?

Did you even read the OP? All units except troops are 0-1 so no double ups for the ravager or razorwing. The venom if taken as part of a troops choice should be ok to double up on though. Running beast masters - the Clawed fiend in large numbers can be solid. Needs a character to keep it in check though I find.

I'm going to see if I can convince my gaming group to make exceptions for AV10 vehicles. I know we have an Ork player who rightfully felt cheated that he couldn't use more than one trukk. If I can manage that, then the question is: How many warriors in Venoms/Raiders should I try to fit?

| If troop dedicated transports as multiples are ok, you can pretty much bring a "standard" list.
If not it will be a tough ride as most of our weapons are on the transports.
Could look like this:
1x Lhaemean (hide somewhere)
5x Kabalites + Venom, SC 8x Kabalites + Raider, Lance, Ammunition
1x Razorwing 6x Reaver, 2 Caltrops 5x Scourges, 4 HWB
1x Ravager, Lances 1x Talos 1x Cronos, Probe
1000 Points
