| Hey guys
I was told you could get two of the same heavy weapon in a scourge box. I can only see one of each?
I've bought 4 boxes, with the intention of making 2 x 4 haywire blasters, 1 x 4 heat lances, and 1 x 4 splinter cannons?
If I'm limited to one heavy weapon per box, and I have 4 boxes, how would you guys equip them?
Thanks | |

| Yes, you only get 1 of each special and heavy weapon within each box of scourge.
Building 4 Haywire Blasters and 4 Heat Lances are definitely recommended to start.
For the other 2 units, I would go for 4 Blasters and 4 Shardcarbines. This may sound a bit odd but there have been a couple of games where I will run units of 7 (solarite, 4 weapons, 2 carbines) in order to help with wounds and anti-infantry after they serve their purposes.

| I have 15 scourges and wanted them in groups of 5 with 4 blasters. So, I converted the other weapons to match. They are pretty close anyway, so it wasn't that big of a deal.

| Heat lance pretty much looks the same as a haywire blaster without the vanes around the barrel. It is therefore easy to convert one to the other by either hacking off the vanes, or adding some made out of plasticard.
The Talos/Cronos box set comes with a load of weapon barrels for the Talos tail. If you make it as a Cronos, or a Talos with splinter rifles or stinger pod, that leaves you 2 heat lances and 2 haywire barrels - enough to convert 4 scourges one way or the other.

| I cut the fins off of the shredders and put them on the heat lances. That gave me two nearly identical looking haywire blasters and 2 nearly identical looking regular blasters per box. | |

| I managed to build a few extra Blasters by converting the Shredders. - Cut the round ammunition pack - Cut the nose of the Shredder - Replace it by the Blaster Pistol's nose (you find one on all DE kits) | |

| I used to think you got 2 in each box, and may have told people that at one point. That was a misunderstanding based on a trade I did at one point. | |

| So far it looks like 4 Haywire Blasters and 1 Shard Carbine works best for me, followed by 4 Heat Lances and 1 Solarite with Blaster Pistol.
Blaster Scourges should work well too (4 Blasters and a Pistol), but I think Blasterborn are better at the same job. Splinter Cannons are generally a poor choice for Scourges, as you lose 2 shots each if you moved. Same for Darklances, which you can't fire at all if you moved. And there is little reason to bother with a Solarite, unless you want a Blaster Pistol in there. Fancy close combat weapons are just a waste of points in this unit.

| Personally I have two squads, one with 4 Haywire Blasters and one with 4 heat lances. (No solarites.) | |

Blaster Scourges should work well too (4 Blasters and a Pistol), but I think Blasterborn are better at the same job. I completely agree. Thing is, I've tried Heat Lances and they just don't work for me. With my rolling, it's much easier to strip hull points away than it is to wreck or blow up a vehicle. No armored targets (yeah, right...) mean that my Scourge go objective grabbing.

| Four haywires, four heatlances. The splinter cannons aren't much good for converting, and there isn't another unit that it's worth giving four of them to, so I'd do those too, in case you ever face an all-genestealer army or something | |
