I'm playing a 2000 point doubles game on the 23rd of November. Now I don't know the teams or for that matter the armies. Although I know one Tau list, a super-super competitive broadside, pathfinder toating farsight multiple riptide lots of plasma and missile carnival is coming to visit 100% and the other two armies are about a 75% Chance of more Farsight with a small chance of Grey Knight Drizzle followed by a small spat of tyranids or heavy blizzards of Space Wolves.

So worst case scenario I'm going up against 4000 points worth of double Farsight cheese and that will take the biscuit. But as they say in Germany, always prepare for the Wurst. So I have come together with a little list with the aim of denying any sort of battlesuit any fun and laughing at high toughness multi wound units. While at the same time hoping to be able to cope with whatever else turns up. So, thoughts, opinions would be very welcome!

The Darklight Symphony

Archon, Agoniser, shadowfield

4x Grotesques
Raider, enhanced aerosails
5x Trueborn, 4x Blasters
Raider, Nightshields, Dark Lance
5x Trueborn, 2x Cannons (Anything better for 85 Points?)

5x Warriors Blaster
Venom extra cannon
5x Warriors Blaster
Venom Extra Cannon

Option 1
6x Reavers, 2 Cluster Caltrops or 2 blasters
6x Reavers, 2 Cluster Caltrops or 2 blasters

Option 2
Razorwing with Dark Lances
Ravager with Disintergrators

5 x Scourges, 4 x Blasters
5 x Scourges, 4 x Blasters

Scalpel Squadron
5x wracks with Ossefactor in Venom with Cannon
5x Wracks with Ossefactor in Venom with Cannon

Dark Artisans
Haemocules, Webway portal, scissorhand
Talos with Ichor injector
Chronos with Spirit Probe

Haven't decided on my Warlord just yet or if the huskblade might actually be more useful in this situation (99% sure I already know that answer) or if perhaps the reavers would be better off with blasters and act as reserve snipers?

Hit me with your Criticism stick, hit me, hit me.

after my experiences I'd be worried about your reavers surviving a turn on the board against stuff that's going to ignore their cover.

Yeah, I agree

Every time I've played my Reavers they last a few turns then get shot out of the sky...obviously has something to do with me playing them like an idiot but they're just too easy to gun down when ignoring cover (Guard orders or Tau missiles decimate them!)

But I guess they save other units from being blown to bits...

Yes that is something I am concerned about, the problem is that they are just so much fun and I have had decent uses out of them before! Each Reaver squad is 126points so there is potential to exchange both squads for a razorwing and maybe give the trueborn with the cannons a raider. Or alternatively drop the trueborn as well and stick in another razorwing or a ravager for example?

Drop the Trueborn with the cannon defo in my opinion. I think they're an easy VP for your opponent. But obviously that doesn't add to much. Maybe drop one squad of Reavers as well then Razorwing?

I love the Jetfighter model so might be a bit bias there...

Yes the trueborn are a bit of a flannel unit here, I was contemplating what else the 85 points can be used for, I thought perhaps mandrakes but all that ignores cover scares me!
